NUST Information & Communications Technologies Dte seeks a Technician (OFC) to manage fiber optic network setup, maintenance, and repairs at the Data Centre and satellite sites. You will monitor performance, trace faults, coordinate with relevant sections, ensure safety of the fiber backbone, and maintain up-to-date layout maps and component records.

A DAE in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom with hands-on OFC deployment experience is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Essential qualifications include a DAE in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom.
• Hands-on OFC deployment and installation knowledge is required.
• Experience with OFC troubleshooting tools and maintenance is expected.

Aufgaben

• Technician line (OFC) manages smooth operations of NUST Fiber Optic cable network setup at Data Centre & Schools / Institute end. Ensure timely repair / maintenance of all Fiber Optic setup covering ODF , Patch cards of Single mode & Multi mode Fiber Optic cable.
• Monitoring ,Fault tracing , Repair / Maintenance of NUST single & multimode fiber Optic Cable setup coveringODFs , Patch cards
• Survey for new deployment , route clearance, splicing monitoring , tagging ODF and supervising installation of markerposts, marking tape, manholes, trenching/backfilling
• Ensuring safety of NUST Fiber Optic cable infrastructure, Monitoring & Timely coordination withrelevant sections
• Maintain record of optical fiber componentsdetails and up-to-date layout map of fiber Optic cable Network.
• Any other task assigned by Senior Manager DataCentre

Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons: - 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile. - NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution. - In process of pursuing a required degree. - Medically unfit.
