Job summary

EBM in Karachi is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring equipment reliability, plant safety, and minimal downtime.

The role requires hands‑on technical leadership, troubleshooting of PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and coordination with Production for shutdowns; you will mentor the E&I team and drive continuous improvement through KAIZEN.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot PLCs, DCS, and SCADA.
• Knowledge of SAP for work orders and maintenance records.
• Experience driving KAIZEN and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Lead troubleshooting of breakdowns involving PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and field instruments, ensuring timely resolution and uptime.
• Supervise repairs and restoration of faulty components, ensuring functionality and safety.
• Oversee calibration and health checks of instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, level).
• Ensure timely closure of work orders and maintenance notifications in SAP.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspection logs, and spare part consumption.
• Support in the preparation of O&M manuals, checklists, and ISO documentation.
• Supervise and mentor the E&I maintenance team; assign tasks and review performance.
• Coordinate with Production and Planning teams for shutdowns and maintenance schedules.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure PTW compliance and safety standards during execution.
• Drive reliability improvement through RCA, OPLs, and CI initiatives.
• Identify and propose small-scale KAIZEN improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Practical experience with bakery production equipment.

This position is responsible for managing all electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, plant safety, and minimal downtime. This role requires a hands‑on technical expert with leadership capabilities, well‑versed in troubleshooting automation systems, managing preventive maintenance, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Lead troubleshooting of breakdowns involving PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and field instruments, ensuring timely resolution and equipment uptime.
• Supervise repairs and restoration of faulty components, ensuring functionality and operational safety.
• Oversee calibration and health checks of instruments, (flow, pressure, temperature, level), using standard protocols.
• Ensure timely closure of work orders and maintenance notifications in SAP.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspection logs, and spare part consumption.
• Support in the preparation of O&M manuals, checklists and documentation required for audits or ISO compliance.
• Supervise and mentor the E&I maintenance team (internal & third-party staff); assign daily tasks and review performance.
• Coordinate with Production and Planning teams for shutdowns and maintenance schedules.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure PTW compliance and safety standards during execution.
• Drive reliability improvement through RCA, One Point Lessons (OPLs), and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
• Identify and propose small-scale improvements through KAIZEN that collectively enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and plant performance.
• Practical experience with industrial ovens, burners, conveyors, mixers, depositors, and other bakery/biscuit production equipment.
