Zones is seeking a Team Lead - Cloud Commerce to design and optimize cloud and software billing processes. You will capture subscription details, terms, billing, pricing, and invoicing requirements while coordinating with extended teams.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of cloud services, and excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders to drive process improvements.

Position Overview

The Team Lead - Cloud Commerce collaborates with extended teams to design and implement cloud and software billing processes that improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. The role captures essential subscription and offering details and aligns data points covering terms, billing, pricing, subscription periods, notification schedules, recurring fees, invoicing, and related requirements.

This position oversees the cloud billing process and ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of cloud services, effective leadership skills, sound judgment in ambiguous situations, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to continuous process improvement. The role also requires excellent communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

What you will do as the Team Lead - Cloud Commerce

• Manage the end-to-end cloud billing process, ensuring operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant with applicable standards.
• Oversee the review, reconciliation, and generation of customer-facing invoices using Dynamics 365, Customer Engagement (CE), and Finance and Operations (F&O).
• Monitor outstanding invoices, address discrepancies proactively, and support the timely closure of orders.
• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of cloud service vendors, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and relevant programs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for cloud and software billing-related queries.
• Work closely with vendor representatives to remain current on program changes, pricing models, and billing requirements.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline billing processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to automate repetitive activities, reduce manual effort, and minimize errors.
• Establish and reinforce best practices for efficient billing operations.
• Generate and analyze recurring reports on billing metrics, trends, and anomalies, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the Cloud Billing team, set clear goals, provide coaching, and support capability development.
• Ensure team members are trained and equipped to manage complex billing scenarios.
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation to support internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit readiness.
• Deliver responsive customer service to internal stakeholders, address escalations, and resolve billing disputes professionally and promptly.
• Maintain positive working relationships with Sales, Finance, IT, business leaders, and external partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop long-term billing strategies and forecast billing volumes, revenue, and cost trends.
• Stay informed about industry trends, cloud service offerings, and billing practices through relevant learning and professional development activities.
• Maintain at least 90% service-level agreement (SLA) performance and support 100% accuracy in assigned deliverables.

What you will bring to the team

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Equivalent education, certifications, training, and relevant work experience may be considered in place of a four-year degree.
• Strong understanding of cloud and software billing processes, programs, and tools, including Dynamics 365, CE, and F&O.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
• Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with accounting and financial regulations and internal control requirements.
