Job summary

METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited is recruiting for a cashier-focused role to manage checkout floor operations and cashier performance. You will reconcile MMS/MCOP reports with cash and credit transactions, assist in cashier scheduling, and ensure high customer service standards on the department floor.

You will train cashiers, support their development, and work toward progression to Department Manager, while coordinating with line management to respond to promotions and competitive actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in cash handling and checkout operations.
• Ability to train cashiers and support staff.
• Willingness to progress to Department Manager role.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile MMS/MCOP reports with cash and credit transactions.
• Assist in scheduling Cashiers according to their shifts.
• Assist in the overall management of Checkout Floor Operations, including cash tills and End Control.
• Ensure the smooth implementation of customer service standards within the department.
• Coach and train team members on existing and new concepts, technologies, and functionalities to support the successful achievement of the team’s functional objectives.
• Carry out any other instructions or tasks assigned by the line manager and/or senior management.

Job Description

• Reconcile MMS/MCOPreports with cash and credit transactions.
• Assist in scheduling Cashiers according to their shifts.
• Assist in the overall management of Checkout Floor Operations, including cash tills and End Control.

• Train Cashiers and support their ongoing development within the function.
• Work towards developing the skills and competencies required for progression to the Department Manager (DM) role.
• Greet customers and provide accurate product information regarding specifications, availability, price, and location.
• Address customer complaints by understanding customers’ needs and expectations and proposing appropriate solutions.
• Obtain information from the DM regarding competitors’ promotions to better understand business action plans.
• Obtain information from the line manager regarding competitors’ services and activities.
• Coach and train team members on existing and new concepts, technologies, and functionalities to support the successful achievement of the team’s functional objectives.
• Contribute to enhancing team members’ technical skills, individual growth, and positive attitudes.
• Carry out any other instructions or tasks assigned by the line manager and/or senior management.
