Job summary

Sukuk Capital is seeking a dedicated SQA Engineer with 2-3 years of software quality assurance experience to ensure quality across products. You will design test plans, execute tests, and collaborate with development teams to resolve defects and improve product quality.

Join a dynamic team in Lahore, Pakistan, and participate in Agile ceremonies, regression testing, and continuous improvement of QA processes and documentation.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing, preferably within an Agile development environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in test management tools (TestRail) and bug tracking systems (JIRA).
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and their QA processes.
  • Experience in functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, capable of identifying subtle defects or inconsistencies in software behavior.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate testing results and insights within a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts to validate software functionality and performance.
  • Perform detailed manual testing on various software applications to thoroughly evaluate functionality.
  • Identify, document, and track defects in a bug-tracking system, ensuring timely resolution with developers.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback on features and risks.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure new features or fixes do not affect existing functionality.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and improving QA documentation including test plans, reports, and best practices.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to discussions on quality and testing efficiency.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve testing methodologies, tools, and practices across development phases.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to suggest and prioritize areas for automated testing to enhance coverage and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality and performance.
  • Perform detailed manual testing on various software applications, ensuring that all aspects of functionality are thoroughly evaluated.
  • Identify, document, and track defects in a bug‑tracking system, ensuring timely resolution by collaborating closely with developers.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements, providing constructive feedback on product features and potential areas of risk.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features or bug fixes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of QA documentation, including test plans, reports, and best practices.

  • Good in Calculations and Stats Verification.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java) to assist with test automation or understand code‑level issues.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing methodologies.
  • Certification in Quality Assurance or Software Testing (e.g., ISTQB Foundation Level).
  • Familiarity with performance and security testing practices and tools.
  • Experience working in an Agile or DevOps environment with continuous testing practices.
