Job summary

JazzWorld in Islamabad is seeking a Specialist RAN Operations to ensure the high performance and stability of the Radio Access Network. This role provides 24x7 back-office support to field teams and executes end-to-end configuration changes across the RAN domain.

You will manage parameter tuning, site creation and expansions, software upgrades, alarm handling, data exports, and Level-II support for outages.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Huawei/ZTE RAN configuration.
• BE in Electrical, Electronics, Telecom or Computer.
• Willing to work in a 24x7 roster.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of GSM architecture and call flows (2G/4G).

Responsibilities

• Configure and tune parameters in Huawei/BSC/BTS/Cell/TRX.
• Perform BSC/BTS rehoming, SGSN shifts, software upgrades.
• Create new sites, perform expansions, dual carrier setups.
• Delete Junk DB in EMS.
• Block network per PTA directives.
• Standardize alarms in the network.
• Configure special events and manage performance (Eid, congregations).
• Export databases and manage inventory.
• Provide Level-II support for outages and degradation.
• Daily analysis of BSC and major KPIs and troubleshooting.
• Analyze degradations and rectify issues.
• Ensure controllers redundancy.
• Analyze alarms/events and fix.
• Audit network hardware and licenses; backups.
• Conduct physical inspections and preventive maintenance of controllers.

What is Specialist RAN Operations?

The Specialist RAN Operations is a key technical position responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and stability of the Radio Access Network. This role provides 24x7 back-office operational support to field teams, addressing issues at both the site and controller levels. The incumbent will be accountable for executing end-to-end configuration changes across the RAN domain to maintain seamless network functionality and service quality. The position reports directly to the Manager RAN Operations.

What does Specialist RAN Operations do?

• Parameter configuration & Tuning (BSC, BTS, Cell & TRX) in Huawei/ZTE network.
• BSC & BTS rehoming, SGSN shifting & addition, software, patch & license upgrades.
• New site creation, hard expansion, soft expansion & dual carrier configuration.
• Junk DB deletion in EMS .
• Network blocking as per the directives of PTA.
• Alarm standardization in network.
• Special event configuration & performance handling i.e. Eid & congregation.
• Data base exports & inventory management.
• Level-II support to field team for outages & degradation.
• Daily basis BSC & major KPIs analysis & trouble shooting.
• Degradation analysis & rectification of issues.
• Controllers’ redundancy assurance.
• Controllers’ alarms & event analysis & fix.
• Network hardware & license audits & database backups.
• Physical inspections and preventive maintenance of controllers.
