Job summary

Cognitive Healthcare International seeks a visionary UI/UX Designer to craft human-centered healthcare platforms. You will lead design from concept to high-fidelity prototypes, ensuring accessibility and clinical precision while collaborating with product, engineering, and clinical experts.

You bring 5+ years in healthcare UX, a strong portfolio, and mastery of modern design tools; familiarity with front-end basics and design systems is expected. This on-site role is based in Islamabad.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of dedicated professional experience in UI/UX design, with a strong, demonstrable portfolio highlighting complex web and mobile applications.
• Extensive Healthcare UX background, designing HIPAA-compliant platforms, EHRs, or telemedicine solutions.
• Proven track record of leading end-to-end design initiatives from concept to post-launch optimization in cross-functional product environments.

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive interfaces for complex healthcare applications with accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA/AAA) and usability best practices.
• Conduct user research, contextual inquiries, and usability testing with clinical staff and patients to uncover pain points.
• Build, scale, and maintain design systems and component libraries for visual consistency across squads.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and medical experts to translate clinical requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

Experience

• 5+ years of dedicated professional experience in UI/UX design, with a strong, demonstrable portfolio highlighting complex web and mobile applications.
• Extensive, hands-on background specifically within Healthcare UX, designing HIPAA-compliant platforms, electronic health records, or telemedicine solutions.
• Proven track record of leading end-to-end design initiatives from conceptualization through to post-launch optimization in cross-functional product environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design intuitive user interfaces and experiences for complex healthcare applications, ensuring absolute compliance with accessibility standards and usability best practices.
• Conduct comprehensive user research, contextual inquiries, and usability testing sessions with clinical staff and patients to uncover deep operational pain points.
• Build, scale, and maintain robust design systems and component libraries to guarantee visual consistency and accelerate development cycles across multiple squads.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and medical subject matter experts to translate clinical requirements into elegant, frictionless wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

Required Skills

• Technical (must-have): Advanced proficiency in Figma, FigJam, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Miro for wireframing, rapid prototyping, and collaborative design workshops.
• Technical (must-have): Deep expertise in Healthcare UX principles, accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA/AAA), user-centered design methodologies, information architecture, and rigorous usability testing frameworks using tools like Maze and Hotjar.
• Generative AI tools (must-have): Practical application of Midjourney, DALL·E, Adobe Firefly, and Microsoft Copilot to accelerate ideation and asset generation.
• Soft skills: Exceptional stakeholder management, active listening, clear verbal and written communication, persuasive presentation skills, and the ability to advocate fiercely for user needs.

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications such as Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g) UX Certification or Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) are highly valued and preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Experience utilizing Zeplin, Jira, and Confluence for seamless developer handoff and agile sprint tracking within regulated industries.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, React basics) to effectively communicate design feasibility to engineering teams.
