Job summary

Indus Hospital in Karachi is seeking a Senior Officer – Supply Chain (Technical Buyer) to lead procurement of engineering, maintenance, and technical items, coordinating with Maintenance to ensure timely spares, generators, HVAC, MEP equipment, and services. Expect rigorous supplier evaluation and contract management.

The role requires 3–4 years of relevant experience, a technical engineering degree, and familiarity with ERP and MS Office.

Qualifications

Experience in technical procurement and maintenance environments.
Ability to read technical specs, BOQs, drawings and equipment manuals.
Proven vendor evaluation and contract negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Procure engineering, maintenance, and technical items including CAPEX and services.
Review technical specs, BOQs, drawings, and scopes with Maintenance.
Obtain quotations, compare technical and commercial bids, evaluate vendors.
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and vendors for technical compliance.
Prepare Purchase Orders, Work Orders, and service contracts.
Develop and maintain an approved vendor database for technical items.
Negotiate pricing, delivery, warranties, and after-sales support.
Coordinate CAPEX and maintenance projects procurement and delivery.
Maintain procurement records and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with local and overseas suppliers for spare parts procurement.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
