Job summary

Surfactant Chemical Company, based in Karachi, seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee Finance, Supply Chain, HR, IT, and Manufacturing Site operations. This senior role drives strategic initiatives, optimizes processes, and ensures regulatory compliance across the organisation.

You will lead the Surfactants Innovation Centre operations and collaborate with internal teams, partners, and authorities to sustain profitability and growth in Pakistan.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in finance, supply chain, manufacturing site management, HR, and IT operations.
• Strong leadership with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving organisational change.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Familiarity with regulatory, safety, and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing and innovation operations in Pakistan.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, IT, Manufacturing Site, Administration, and the Surfactants Innovation Centre to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
• Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement operational strategies and policies that align with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.
• Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial reporting, cost controls, and resource allocation to drive profitability and operational sustainability.
• Supply Chain Management: Optimise procurement, logistics, inventory, and distribution to support manufacturing and market needs.
• HR & Talent Development: Lead talent acquisition, training, performance management, and foster a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.
• IT & Digital Transformation: Oversee IT infrastructure, digital initiatives, and data security to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.
• Manufacturing Site Management: Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations at the manufacturing facility, driving continuous improvement and quality standards.
• Administration: Supervise administrative functions to support business continuity and compliance.
• Innovation Centre Operations: Support and drive research, development, and innovation initiatives at the Surfactants Innovation Centre.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders.
• Systems Compliance: Ensures compliances to International Standards Organization’s (ISO’s) defined systems and procedures.
