Job summary

Contour Software is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to manage monthly accounting, close processes, and detailed financial reporting for multiple business units. You will lead forecasting efforts, analyze performance using KPI data, and partner with unit leaders to drive improvements.

Strong Excel and communication skills are essential, with IFRS knowledge a plus. You will mentor junior staff, support audits, and contribute to process enhancements while ensuring accurate,

Qualifications

  • Business/Finance degree required (MBA/BBA), with preferred professional designations (CGA/CMA/CA/ACCA).
  • 3–5 years of experience as a senior financial analyst or similar role.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong administrative and organizational abilities; ability to set priorities and adapt to changing demands.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of interacting with all management levels.
  • Knowledge of IFRS is an asset.
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Handle monthly financial accounting including journal entries, accruals, and financial analysis to ensure accurate monthly results for business units.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including Income Statement.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
  • Lead quarterly forecast process with business unit leaders.
  • Compare actual results with forecast to identify strengths and weaknesses.
  • Provide KPI-based and non-financial data analyses to highlight performance.
  • Collaborate with business unit managers to provide required support.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and monthly prepayments/ accruals schedules.
  • Review reconciliations and prepare monthly payroll commissions schedule.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses as required by management.
  • Prepare quarter-end and year-end note disclosures.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on best financial practices.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as required.
  • Continuously improve procedures and develop reports to drive insights.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for monthly financial accounting, including journal entries, accruals and financial analysis, to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial results for Business Units
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including Income Statement
  • Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
  • Lead quarterly forecast process by partnering with Business Units leaders
  • Compare actual results with forecast to analyze and identify areas of strengths and weakness
  • Develop and deliver a consistent and accurate analysis of business performance using KPI and non-financial data to highlight performance
  • Liaise with the various Business Unit Managers to provide support as required
  • Prepare account reconciliations including prepayment and accruals schedules on monthly basis.
  • Review account reconciliations FA prepared
  • Prepare monthly commissions schedule for payroll processing
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as required by Management
  • Prepare note disclosures for quarter-end and year-end
  • Train and mentor junior analyst and other staff on best financial practices
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests as required
  • Continuously improve procedures; develop reports to drive insight and accountability
Job Qualifications:
  • Attained a Business/Finance degree (i.e. MBA, BBA. etc.) with preference given to those with relevant further study/designations (CGA/CMA/CA/ACCA)
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience as a senior financial analyst, financial analyst, or in a similar position
  • Advanced skills and experience in MS Office Excel
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with ability to set priorities, adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and ad hoc issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal savviness skills with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management. Possesses strong leadership/command skills and demonstrates organizational agility
  • Ability to learn new concepts and tasks quickly, work under pressure, and meet deadlines requirements in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent technical learning, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of IFRS is an asset
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software an asset
