Job summary

Zong 5G in Islamabad seeks a Senior Executive IPCore and CDN Management to oversee nationwide MPLS core network operations, ensure high availability, perform daily configurations, and support regional teams.

The role requires coordinating with regions and vendors, implementing QoS for mission-critical services, monitoring KPIs, and guiding major network upgrades, with a 24/7 shift schedule. You will maintain documentation, manage spares, and participate in disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering from a HEC-recognized university.

Responsibilities

• Ensure core Transmission (IP MPLS) network availability at 99.999%.
• Provide support to regional teams for Core Transmission (IP MPLS core) network.
• Implement QoS for mission-critical services of CMPak network.
• Monitor vital core transmission network KPIs and perform routine quality testing.
• Coordinate with regions and implement new core Transmission network entities, with checks.
• Keep updated nationwide core connectivity data and related documentation.
• Record spare parts and inform regional teams of required spares.
• Perform health checks and timely corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with vendor & regions for emergency situation handling.
• Ensure emergency plan is referred to before engaging the vendor.
• Network swap of existing Network with new evolved technologies.
• LLD review and MOP finalization for major network cutovers & system upgrades.
• Coordinate with IT, NSS, BSS, VAS, OMC for routine issues and upgrades.
• Network commissioning, operations & maintenance configurations and troubleshooting.
• Acceptance procedures reconciliation of Core transmission entities.
• Handle complex troubleshooting in a 24/7 shift roster.

Job Purpose:

Nationwide O & M of the MPLS core network, ensuring network availability, performing day-to-day configurations, and providing support to regions and peer departments.

Job Responsibilities:

• To ensure core Transmission (IP MPLS) network availability at 99.999%. Taking respective measures to maintain it. ·
• Providing support to regional teams for Core Transmission (IP MPLS core) network ·
• Implementation of QoS for mission-critical services of CMPak network. ·
• To monitor vital core transmission network KPIs and perform routine quality testing to identify any issues, followed by permanent resolution. Responsible for ensuring that vital KPIs are within the required threshold values. ·
• To co-ordinate with regions and implement new core Transmission network entities, provided that all relevant checks are done, including comprehensive HAT/PAT. ·
• To keep a record of updated nationwide core connectivity network data and related documentation, including software CDs, etc. ·
• To keep a record of spare parts and intimate regional teams of required spares whenever required. ·
• To perform health checks and ensure that routines for corrective and preventive maintenance are timely and precisely done. ·
• To co-ordinate with vendor & regions for emergency situation handling.
• To ensure that the emergency plan is referred to before engaging the vendor. ·
• Network swap of existing Network with new evolved technologies. ·
• LLD review and MOP finalization and approval for major network cutovers & system up gradations ·
• Point of contact for co-ordination with other departments like IT, NSS, BSS, VAS, OMC for routine issues, system integration and upgrades. ·
• Network Commissioning, Operations & Maintenance service configurations and troubleshooting of IP MPLS Networks ·
• Acceptance procedures reconciliation of Core transmission entities ·
• The incumbent candidate will be responsible for handling complex troubleshooting in a 24/7 shift duty roster based on operational requirements.
