Job summary

WALEE in Islamabad, Pakistan, seeks a Sr. Associate - Content Acquisition & Production to lead planning, acquisition, licensing, partnerships, and production across our digital platforms.

The role will build a strong content pipeline by working with creators, production houses, broadcasters, podcasters, studios, influencers, rights holders, and other industry partners. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing content productions as well as external content partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Media, Marketing, Mass Communication, Film, Communications, or a related field.
• 5-6 years in content production, digital media, broadcasting, OTT, content partnerships, or similar.
• Strong understanding of content production, acquisition, licensing, distribution, and digital media.
• Hands-on experience managing video productions, podcasts, livestreams, shows, interviews, and short-form content.
• Ability to independently plan and manage shoots, production teams, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Strong relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of content rights, usage permissions, licensing structures, and partnership models.
• Working knowledge of cameras, lighting, sound, production equipment, editing workflows, and post-production processes.
• Strong editorial judgment and understanding of digital audience behavior.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple content projects and partnerships simultaneously.
• Willingness and ability to support or directly participate in content production when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage content acquisition, licensing, and production plans aligned with platform and audience growth objectives.
• Identify and source relevant content, including shows, podcasts, livestreams, short-form videos, original series, event coverage, and other digital formats.
• Build and maintain relationships with content creators, production houses, broadcasters, studios, podcasters, influencers, and rights holders.
• Negotiate content partnerships, licensing arrangements, syndication agreements, revenue-sharing models, and content-exchange opportunities in coordination with relevant teams.
• Evaluate content opportunities based on audience relevance, platform fit, quality, cost, engagement potential, and monetization opportunities.
• Develop partnerships with independent and established content producers to acquire, license, distribute, or co-produce content.
• Develop original content concepts and translate them into production-ready formats, budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
• Manage the end-to-end production lifecycle, including concept development, scripting, pre-production, shoots, post-production, approvals, and final delivery.
• Independently manage and supervise shoots, productions, livestreams, podcasts, interviews, and studio or on-ground recordings.
• Coordinate with production crews, presenters, guests, vendors, editors, designers, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure acquired and produced content has the required rights, permissions, releases, contracts, and usage documentation.
• Maintain a structured content pipeline and calendar covering productions, licensed content, releases, livestreams, and promotional assets.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Growth, Product, Design, Social Media, Partnerships, and Commercial teams to maximize content reach and performance.
• Develop repeatable content formats and franchises that support user acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization.
• Monitor content performance and use audience insights to improve programming, partnerships, and production decisions.
• Ensure all content meets required editorial, brand, technical, legal, and platform standards.
• Mentor junior content team members and ensure timely and high-quality execution across projects.
