Job summary

Bestway Cement Limited is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to implement the Health & Safety Management System at the plant, promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring timely closure of safety gaps. Qualifications

• DAE Mechanical/ Chemical qualification from a recognized institute.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in HSE roles.
• Safety certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or OSHA are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct H&S orientations for new employees, contractors and site visitors.
• Inspect vehicles, cranes, forklifts and equipment; maintain inspection records.
• Organize emergency drills and maintain related reports and follow-up actions.
• Identify and report hazards and unsafe acts; follow up for corrective actions.
• Report accidents/incidents and support investigation and corrective actions.
• Monitor implementation of risk assessments, work permits, LOTOTO and other H&S systems.
• Conduct H&S audits, inspections, and VFLs and track closure of gaps.
• Guide supervisors and workers on safe work practices and address unsafe conditions.
• Monitor PPE availability and ensure PPE compliance with stores.
• Maintain records of safety performance, violations, corrective actions and compliance.
• Promote safe behaviour through regular interaction and engagement with employees.
• Ensure compliance with company H&S requirements during routine and special activities.

Experience and Qualification

• 01 to 02 years of relevant experience.
• Safety Certifications e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, OSHA
