Job summary

Remotebase is seeking a People Operations Intern to help shape how our remote team connects, celebrates, and grows together. You will design virtual engagement activities, manage the Fun Fund, and assist with onboarding and HR operations, with engagement as your main focus.

You'll gain hands-on experience building an engagement function in a global remote company, with mentorship from the People Operations team and exposure to budgeting and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or Communications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple events.
• Comfortable with basic budgeting and spreadsheets.
• Genuine interest in remote work culture and employee experience.
• Self-driven and reliable in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and run innovative virtual engagement activities, such as games, contests, themed events, and team challenges, that get a distributed team excited to participate.
• Manage the Fun Fund: plan budgets, track spending, and ensure value for the team.
• Schedule and coordinate meetups, both virtual and in-person, across time zones and teams.
• Collect employee feedback through pulse surveys and informal check-ins, and turn it into better ideas.
• Track participation and engagement metrics to see what works and what doesn't.
• Promote events internally with clear, fun communication so people actually show up.
• Support onboarding and employee records as needed, including welcome experiences for new joiners.
