Job summary

Halan Microfinance Bank is seeking a seasoned Head of Branch Operations to oversee regional operations and ensure regulatory compliance across all branches.

You will lead Area Operations Managers, drive SOP adherence, and strengthen internal controls while managing staff recruitment, training, and succession planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 12 years of banking operations experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Relevant banking, operations, risk or compliance certifications.
• Experience in Banking / Microfinance / Financial Services with exposure to regional/branch operations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor SOPs, policies, and regulatory requirements across all branches.
• Supervise Area Operations Managers and branch staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Conduct periodic branch visits to review operations, controls, compliance and service quality.
• Monitor audit findings and ensure timely corrections to prevent repeat issues.
• Ensure KYC, AML/CFT compliance and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead recruitment, training, succession planning and retention of staff.
• Strengthen controls and implement actions to mitigate operational risks.
• Ensure timely reporting of operational, management, and regulatory reports.
• Coordinate with Head Office to achieve regional objectives and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure implementation of operational policies, SOPs, regulatory requirements across all branches.


• Supervise, guide and support Area Operations Managers and branch operations staff to ensure efficient branch operations.


• Conduct periodic branch visits to review operations, internal controls, compliance and service quality.


• Monitor audit observations and ensure timely rectification to prevent repeat findings.


• Ensure effective implementation of KYC, AML/CFT and other regulatory requirements.


• Lead recruitment, training, succession planning and retention of branch operations staff.


• Strengthen operational controls and implement corrective actions to mitigate operational risks.


• Ensure timely reporting and escalation of fraud, operational losses, and compliance breaches.


• Ensure timely and accurate submission of operational, management, and regulatory reports.


• Coordinate with Head Office and stakeholders to achieve regional operational objectives and continuous process improvement.

Qualification & Experience
