Job summary

Huawei is seeking Regional Datacom Field & Configuration Engineers with about 2 years of hands-on experience to deploy, install, test, and configure Datacom Network Elements across regional Pakistan networks. Candidates will conduct site surveys, perform physical installation, configure NEs, and execute service turn‑up and testing.

Role requires strong knowledge of routing/switching protocols, fiber/copper cabling, testing tools, and cross‑functional collaboration to support regional expansion

Qualifications

• BE/BSc in Electrical, Electronics, Telecom Eng or equivalent.
• 2+ years of hands-on Datacom field experience.
• Hands-on installation, commissioning, testing and configuration.
• Multi-vendor Datacom NE experience required.
• Knowledge of routing/switching protocols (BGP/OSPF/ISIS/MPLS) and NMS.
• Familiarity with fiber and copper cabling standards and testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys, verify site readiness, and prepare field documentation.
• Perform physical installation, rack mounting, cabling, and commissioning of Datacom NEs (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Configure, provision, and integrate NEs per approved design packages.
• Execute NE testing, loop checks, service turn‑up, and acceptance testing.
• Diagnose hardware, cabling, physical layer, and configuration faults.
• Support regional expansion, upgrades, and merger projects.
• Coordinate with regional planning teams, vendors, and internal departments while ensuring compliance with deployment guidelines and HSE requirements.

Huawei is looking for experienced Regional Datacom Field & Configuration Engineers across Pakistan, with around 2 years of hands‑on experience in field deployment, installation, testing, commissioning, and configuration support of Datacom Network Elements (NEs) across regional networks.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct site surveys, verify site readiness, and prepare field documentation.
• Perform physical installation, rack mounting, cabling, and commissioning of Datacom NEs (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Perform NE configuration, provisioning, and integration as per approved design packages.
• Execute NE-level testing, loop checks, service turn‑up, and acceptance testing.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, cabling, physical layer, and configuration‑related faults.
• Support regional expansion, swap, upgradation, and merger projects.
• Coordinate with regional planning teams, vendors, and internal departments while ensuring compliance with deployment guidelines and HSE requirements.

Skill Requirements:

• Hands‑on experience with Huawei (NE, CX, ATN), Cisco, Juniper, or Nokia Datacom equipment.
• Multi‑vendor Datacom NE installation, commissioning, integration, provisioning, and service turn‑up.
• Working knowledge of routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS), QoS, and NMS platforms.
• Knowledge of fiber and copper cabling standards, power systems, and physical layer testing tools (OTDR, power meter, BER tester).
• Experience with Network Swap, Upgradation and Merger projects preferred.
• Experience with Zong, Jazz, Telenor, Ufone/PTCL, or similar operators preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, coordination, and cross‑functional communication abilities.
• Qualification: B.E./B.Sc. Electrical, Electronics, Telecom Engineering or equivalent; Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunications.
• Experience Required: 2+ years.
