Job summary

Proposal Graphic Designer — Visuals & Information Design

Turns proposal content into visuals an evaluator understands at a glance: process graphics, org charts, action captions, covers and diagrams. Works to the page limits and template that Proposal Production owns — this role makes the artwork, not the document.

About the work

A government evaluator reads dozens of bids against a scoring sheet, under time pressure. A diagram that explains an approach in four seconds is worth more than a page that explains it in four minutes. This role makes those.

What you will do

• Turn written approaches into process graphics, org charts, timelines and diagrams
• Write action captions — the sentence under a graphic that states what it proves, because an evaluator may read only that
• Design covers, dividers and reusable graphic templates
• Work inside the page limits and the template the Production Specialist owns, and hand over artwork that drops into it cleanly

Must have

• A portfolio of original design work (link or attached samples)
• Working command of a professional design toolchain (Adobe InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop, Figma or equivalent)
• Page-layout and typography skill for dense business documents

Nice to have

• Brand-system work and reusable graphic templates
• Canva as well as the Adobe toolchain
• Proposal, bid, pitch-deck or annual-report design experience
• Information design — turning dense text into a diagram

What this role is not

This is not document production. You will not be asked to build the template, maintain the table of contents, or hold version control — that is the Proposal Production Specialist role.

Who tends to do well

Designers who are interested in whether the reader understood, not only whether the page looked good. People comfortable being told a beautiful graphic must shrink because the section is over the page limit.
