Job summary

EdgeCraft is looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to manage sourcing, purchasing and supplier relationships for our woodworking and furniture production operations in Rawalpindi.

The role requires 8–10 years of procurement experience with strong knowledge of MDF/plywood materials, a robust supplier network, and proven negotiation and cost-control skills to ensure timely delivery at the best terms. This is a full-time, on-site role in Rawalpindi.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of professional procurement/purchasing experience.
• Strong experience in procurement for furniture, woodworking, interiors, manufacturing, construction materials or a related industry.
• Good knowledge of MDF, plywood, chipboard, laminated boards, edge banding, furniture hardware, fittings and related materials.
• Strong supplier network and knowledge of the Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Pakistan procurement markets.
• Proven ability to source new suppliers and negotiate competitive prices and commercial terms.
• Experience handling quotations, purchase orders, supplier comparisons and procurement records.
• Good understanding of material specifications, quality standards and lead times.
• Ability to negotiate payment terms, delivery schedules and bulk-purchase arrangements.
• Experience coordinating procurement requirements with production and inventory teams.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
• Experience with ERP, inventory or procurement-management systems will be an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and transparency when dealing with suppliers and commercial transactions.
• Candidate should be able to work full-time from the EdgeCraft office/workshop in Rawalpindi.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete procurement cycle from material requirement to supplier selection, purchase order and delivery.
• Source MDF, plywood, chipboard, laminated sheets, edge banding, furniture hardware, fittings, adhesives, CNC consumables and other production materials.
• Identify and develop reliable local and national suppliers.
• Request and evaluate quotations from multiple vendors before purchasing.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, discounts and commercial agreements.
• Maintain an approved supplier database with pricing, lead times and performance history.
• Coordinate with production and design teams to understand upcoming material requirements.
• Ensure required materials are available before scheduled production begins.
• Monitor market prices and identify opportunities for better purchasing terms and cost reduction.
• Compare suppliers based on price, quality, availability, service and delivery performance.
• Check purchase quantities and specifications before placing orders.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure materials arrive on schedule.
• Coordinate with production teams to resolve material-quality or specification issues.
• Help maintain appropriate stock levels while avoiding unnecessary overstocking.
• Review frequently used materials and recommend economical bulk-purchasing opportunities.
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, quotations, invoices and procurement documentation.
• Develop procurement reports covering purchases, supplier performance, price changes and savings.
• Support management with procurement budgeting and material-cost analysis.
• Establish professional supplier relationships while maintaining transparent purchasing practices.
• Continuously identify alternative suppliers to reduce dependency on individual vendors.
• Work with the production team to reduce material shortages, purchasing delays and unnecessary production downtime.

Job Overview

The role will be responsible for procuring materials such as MDF, plywood, chipboard, laminated boards, edge banding, furniture hardware, adhesives, fittings, CNC-related consumables and other production requirements. EdgeCraft works across precision sheet cutting, edge banding, CNC machining and furniture/interior production, so the Procurement Manager must understand both material quality and production requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in supplier sourcing, price negotiation, purchase planning, vendor management and cost control. The person will work closely with production, design and management teams to ensure the right materials are available at the required quality, quantity, price and time.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with procurement experience in furniture manufacturing, modular kitchens, wardrobes, cabinetry, interior fit-outs, woodworking, panel processing or building materials will be given preference, because EdgeCraft’s operations involve MDF/plywood processing, edge banding, CNC machining and production-ready furniture components.
