Job summary

DP World Karachi seeks a seasoned Sea Freight Forwarding Operations & Customer Service professional to manage carrier relations, negotiate rates, and optimize pricing for sea freight services.

You will analyze market trends, support export/import documentation, and coordinate with DP World Logistics Network to ensure high service levels and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• PIFFA diploma recommended.
• Freight Forwarding experience mandatory.
• At least 3 years of sea freight forwarding operations and customer service experience.
• Solid knowledge of the freight forwarding industry.
• Ability to drive execution and prioritize tasks.

Job description

What will you do?

The position holder will be responsible for build and maintaining strong relationships with sea carriers and being able to negotiate competitive rates with the carriers. Develop and implement pricing strategies for sea freight services to maximize revenue and profitability. Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demand to optimize pricing structures with carriers and network offices.

• Maintain strong relationship with the sea carriers.
• Liaise with sea carriers in order to procure the best possible solutions (capacity and cost).
• Manage file creation and all services associated with sea freight product.
• Assist clients in their day-by-day requests related to export/import documentation in order to ensure proper execution to the transportation files.
• Liaise with DPW Logistics Network in order to guarantee the best possible service assistance.
• Network with fellow Operations colleagues to ensure proper support is given in case of workflow overload.
• Manage, develop and train staff, establish and monitor goals, and conduct performance reviews.
• Assume ownership over team productivity and manage workflow to meet or exceed quality service goals
• Assist in identifying and improving service and operations related issues in a station, including on time delivery, accurate and timely data entry, and efficient operations
• Assist in auditing and researching service performance issues and develop recommendations for improvements
• Maintain the security of freight in accordance with security procedures

What you bring (Qualification, Experience & Skills)

• Minimum Bachelor's Qualified.
• PIFFA diploma would be recommended.
• Freight Forwarding experience is mandatory.
• At least 03 years of relevant and recent experience in Sea Freight Forwarding Operations and Customer Service.
• Solid & demonstrated working knowledge of the Freight Forwarding Industry
• Ability to drive strong execution of initiatives, ensuring that the Customers and Network offices get things right the first time through questioning, analyzing, planning and follow‑up.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet various deadlines.
• Intermediate computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with Clients, Carriers, Network Offices.
