Qualifications

• Matriculation (Science) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board/ Institution.
• 2-Year Diploma in Operation Theatre Assistant (OTA) / Operation Theatre Technology from PMF or another recognized/approved institution.
• Minimum 4 years relevant practical experience in Operation Theatre, Outreach Programs, Eye/Surgical Camps or Medical Camps.
• Candidates having field/outreach OTA experience and surgical camp experience will be preferred.
• Candidates holding higher technical qualifications will be given preference.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all instruments and equipment in allocated operation theatres in full working order and report defects.
• Perform thorough cleaning and sterilization of instruments, trays, and bottles; verify sterilization with sterilization markers inside packs.
• Assist surgeons, anaesthetists and OT nurses before and during surgical procedures; prepare patients for operation and direct ward attendants on correct patient transfer protocols across barrier lines to maintain sterile environments.
• Maintain OT expense books, narcotic registers, empty vial logs and surgical procedure records; deposit theatre charges with accounts office.

Job description

• Equipment & Asset Management:Maintain all instruments and equipment in allocated operation theatres in full working order. Ensure sterilizers are fully serviceable and immediately report any defects to the Theatre In-Charge.
• Sterilization & Preparation:Perform thorough cleaning and sterilization of all instruments, trays, and bottles, utilizing sterilization markers inside packs to confirm proper sterilization. Prepare operation trolleys according to checklists with all required instruments.
• Patient & Surgical Support:Assist surgeons, anaesthetists and OT nurses before and during surgical procedures. Prepare patients for operation and direct ward attendants on correct patient transfer protocols across barrier lines to maintain sterile environments.
• Record Keeping & Compliance:Maintain OT expense books, narcotic registers, empty vial logs and surgical procedure records. Account for and deposit applicable theatre charges with the accounts office.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:Matriculation (Science) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board/Institution.
• 2-Year Diploma in Operation Theatre Assistant (OTA) / Operation Theatre Technology from Punjab Medical Faculty (PMF) or another recognized/approved institution.
• Experience:Minimum 4 years relevant practical experience in Operation Theatre, Outreach Programs, Eye/Surgical Camps or Medical Camps.
• Candidates having field/outreach OTA experience and surgical camp experience will be preferred.
• Preference:Candidates holding higher technical qualifications will be given preference.
