Job summary

Vision Telecom is seeking a Network Support Engineer to join our Network Operations Center in Pakistan. You will monitor fiber and IP network, diagnose and resolve customer and network issues, and coordinate with engineering and field teams to keep services running.

The ideal candidate has a BSCS/IT degree, 2+ years in network support, solid routing and switching, CCNA certification, and a calm, methodical approach to troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• BSCS, BCS, MCS, MIT or related degree; CCNA/CCNP Certification is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in network support or a NOC, ideally at an ISP or telecom operator.
• Solid routing and switching knowledge; CCNA required, CCNP a plus.
• Understanding of IP networking, VLANs, OSPF/BGP basics and fiber last-mile connectivity.
• A calm, methodical approach to troubleshooting and clear communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network health and customer services, and respond promptly to alarms and faults.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and escalate network issues, coordinating with engineering, field support, upstream providers and LDIs until they are resolved.
• Configure network elements such as routers, switches and access equipment to provision customer services.
• Keep customers and stakeholders updated by email and phone until each issue is closed.
• Report on network operational status and keep accurate records of incidents and changes.
• Support planned maintenance of the network infrastructure.
