ACE Money Transfer is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN, firewall rules, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure across sites. You will create diagrams, document configurations, and plan expansions for new offices.
The role requires 2–4 years in network engineering with hands-on firewall administration, switching, VLANs, and UniFi access points. CCNA/CCNP or NSE certifications are preferred.
ACE Money Transfer is a UK-based multinational company headquartered in Manchester, United Kingdom. ACE Money Transfer provides online remittance services to individuals in 29 countries across the UK, Europe, Canada, and Australia, enabling them to send money across borders in over 100 countries.
Design, maintain, and continuously update network diagrams (LAN/WAN topology, IP addressing schemes, VLAN structures) for all company sites.
Maintain accurate documentation for switch configurations, SSIDs, AP layouts, firewall rule sets, and routing tables.
Plan and document network expansions for new offices/sites, including cabling layouts, rack elevations, and device placement.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls (rules, NAT, VPN tunnels, VLANs, WAF policies) across all sites.
Monitor firewall health, throughput, and security logs, respond to and resolve firewall-related incidents.
Implement and maintain site-to-site and remote-access VPNs.
Configure and maintain managed switches (VLAN segmentation, trunking, port security, spanning tree, link aggregation).
Deploy, monitor, and optimize wireless access points (UniFi or equivalent) for coverage, uptime, and performance across all assigned sites.
Troubleshoot Layer 2/Layer 3 connectivity, routing, and Wi‑Fi issues end-to-end.
Manage datacenter operations, rack organization, cabling standards, power (UPS/PDU), cooling, and physical access control.
Monitor server, switch, and network device availability, perform routine health checks on critical infrastructure.
Execute and verify daily backups per policy, report and remediate backup failures promptly.
Maintain an accurate inventory of network and server room hardware, including asset tagging and lifecycle tracking.
Resolve assigned network support tickets within defined SLA and priority timelines.
Provide advanced troubleshooting for network connectivity, routing, switching, wireless, and firewall issues beyond first‑line support.
Coordinate with internal teams and vendors on escalations, hardware replacements, and circuit/ISP issues.
Deploy critical network device patches/firmware updates within defined MTTP targets.
Conduct periodic access reviews for VPN, network devices, and remote access, removing inactive or unauthorized entries.
Support IT security audits and compliance reporting related to network infrastructure.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
2–4 years of hands‑on experience specifically in network engineering (not general IT support); genuine depth in firewall administration, switching, and wireless infrastructure is essential.
Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining professional network diagrams (Visio, Draw.io, or similar).
Practical, hands‑on experience with server room management: rack setup, structured cabling, power redundancy, and cooling considerations.
Strong working knowledge of firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Sophos, or similar UTM platforms), managed switches, and enterprise access points (UniFi or equivalent).
Solid understanding of routing/switching fundamentals (VLANs, STP, OSPF/static routing, link aggregation).
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent strongly preferred.
Experience with VPN configuration, network monitoring tools, and structured/physical cabling standards is a plus.
