Job summary

XAutonomous LLC. is seeking a Mid-Level Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to ensure quality across web, mobile, API, and enterprise software. You will design test scenarios, execute tests, and contribute to automation using modern frameworks.

The role requires 2–4 years of hands-on testing experience, strong knowledge of SDLC/STLC, and ability to work independently with developers, analysts, and product teams in a fast-paced environment in Karachi.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional SQA or Software Testing experience.

Responsibilities

XAutonomous is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of our web, mobile, API, and enterprise software applications.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands‑on testing experience, a good understanding of software development and testing lifecycles, and the ability to independently design and execute test cases, identify defects, validate APIs, and contribute to test automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
• Create, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and testing checklists.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, usability, and exploratory testing.
• Test web and mobile applications across multiple browsers, devices, operating systems, and screen sizes.
• Perform API testing using Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, REST clients, or equivalent tools.
• Validate API requests, responses, authentication, status codes, error handling, and business rules.
• Perform database validation and data-integrity testing using SQL queries.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Verify resolved defects and perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains unaffected.
• Collaborate closely with developers, designers, business analysts, and product teams throughout development.
• Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and release activities.
• Develop and maintain automated test cases using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or similar frameworks.
• Contribute to improving regression coverage and overall QA processes.
• Maintain testing documentation and provide clear testing status and release-quality reports.
• Assist Junior QA Engineers and promote consistent testing practices within the team.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and defect-management processes.
• Hands‑on experience with manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.
• Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing.
• Experience creating test scenarios, test cases, and defect reports.
• Experience with API testing using Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar tools.
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, JSON, and authentication.
• Working knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project/defect tracking systems.
• Understanding of browser developer tools and basic debugging techniques.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage assigned testing activities and meet release deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automated regression testing.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Experience testing Android and iOS applications.
• Basic understanding of performance and security testing.
• Familiarity with cloud-based applications and modern web architectures.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification is an advantage.
