Qualifications

• 4 years of experience writing scripts or copy for paid social ads, ideally Meta, in an agency, ecommerce or direct response environment.
• A portfolio of scripts that you can show, with proof of ads you wrote that performed.
• Deep understanding of direct response copywriting and persuasion frameworks such as AIDA, PAS, hook, story, offer, and the big idea approach.
• Strong grasp of buyer psychology and the ability to explain why a script works, not just what it says.
• Ability to write in a natural, conversational voice that sounds like a real person talking to a camera.
• Strong hook writing skills. You know the first three seconds decide everything.
• Comfort reading ad metrics and turning data into creative decisions.
• Excellent written English and clear communication.
• Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager and the Ad Library.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple clients across different niches.
• Experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude and similar) to speed up research and ideation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write high converting video ad scripts for Meta (Facebook and Instagram), including UGC style, talking head, testimonial, problem solution, and storytelling formats.
• Develop multiple hooks, angles and variations for every concept so we can test fast and scale winners.
• Study winning ads in the Meta Ad Library and competitor accounts, break down why they work, and adapt those structures for our clients.
• Apply consumer psychology in your writing, including pain points, desire, social proof, curiosity, urgency, objection handling, identity and emotional triggers.
• Research target audiences, reviews, Reddit threads and forums to pull real customer language into scripts.
• Write scripts for AI generated UGC avatars and human creators, with natural, spoken style delivery.
• Work with our media buyers and editors to review ad performance data (hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CPA, ROAS) and iterate on scripts based on results.
• Build creative briefs and testing roadmaps for each client account.
• Maintain a swipe file and script library of proven frameworks, hooks and angles.
• Deliver consistent weekly output while meeting client deadlines.
