Job summary

Level 3 BOS in Karachi seeks an experienced IT Manager to lead the organization’s IT infrastructure, operations, and night‑shift support. You will oversee IT teams, ensure uptime, security, and performance of critical systems, and drive improvements across networks, servers, and end‑user services.

The role demands hands‑on technical leadership, strong communication with management and stakeholders, and the ability to manage budgets, vendors, and projects while working off hours.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of IT infrastructure, systems administration, IT operations, or related field with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange, SharePoint, VMware, Hyper‑V, and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless networks, VPNs, and network security.
  • Familiarity with CCTV systems, telecom infrastructure, structured cabling, and enterprise communication systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are mandatory; ability to communicate with management, internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently, handle pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make decisions during the night shift.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified, CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, ITIL, Azure Administrator, or equivalents are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the IT support team, ensuring timely and effective resolution of hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure issues.
  • Manage daily IT operations, system administration, and service delivery to maximize uptime of business‑critical systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Manage user accounts, access rights, and security across AD, Azure, M365, Exchange, SharePoint, and cloud platforms.
  • Plan, implement, maintain, and optimize IT infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and cloud environments.
  • Oversee deployment and lifecycle management of desktops, laptops, mobiles, printers, and other IT assets.
  • Manage Windows Server, VMware, Hyper‑V, VDI, and remote access solutions.
  • Supervise installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, WLANs, VPNs, and network infrastructure.
  • Ensure cybersecurity policies and best practices, monitor threats, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate incident response.
  • Coordinate IT projects with vendors, ISPs, and third‑party partners; maintain documentation of infrastructure and assets.
  • Provide after‑hours and on‑call support when required.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align IT solutions with organizational goals.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong IT Manager to lead and manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, operations, and support services during the night shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing IT teams, ensuring the availability, security, and performance of critical technology systems, and driving continuous improvements across infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and end-user support.

The successful candidate should have strong leadership capabilities, hands‑on technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, business‑critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the IT support team, ensuring timely and effective resolution of hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure‑related issues.
  • Manage daily IT operations, system administration, and service delivery while ensuring maximum uptime and availability of business‑critical systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Manage user accounts, access rights, permissions, and security across Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and other cloud platforms.
  • Plan, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and cloud environments.
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other IT assets.
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server, VMware, Hyper‑V, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and remote access solutions.
  • Supervise the installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, wireless networks, VPNs, and other network infrastructure.
  • Ensure cybersecurity policies and best practices are followed, monitor potential security threats, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate IT security incident response.
  • Manage structured cabling and infrastructure projects while coordinating with ISPs, telecom providers, vendors, and third‑party technology partners.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation for IT infrastructure, configurations, asset inventories, procedures, and operational processes.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve efficiency, security, scalability, and overall business performance.
  • Assist with IT budgeting, procurement, vendor management, and cost optimization.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor IT team members, and support training and professional development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department heads and business stakeholders to understand technology requirements and align IT solutions with organizational goals.
  • Provide after‑hours and on‑call technical support when required.
Skills & Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently, handle pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions during the night shift.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified, CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Security+, ITIL, Azure Administrator, or equivalent certifications will be considered an advantage.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: Up to PKR 150,000 per month, depending on experience and expertise.
