Overview: SGUG Shipping Line & Logistics, a Karachi-based sole proprietorship specializing in translation and localization for maritime, logistics, and commercial clients, seeks a Management professional to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure delivery excellence. You will coordinate between linguists, project managers, and clients to maintain quality, on-time delivery, and profitable workflows. This role suits a hands-on manager who understands the language services lifecycle, client relationship management, and basic financial oversight.

• Lead operations: Manage project schedules, resource allocation, vendor and freelancer onboarding, and workload balancing to meet deadlines.
• Quality assurance: Implement and monitor QA processes for translations, proofreading, and localization deliverables; ensure linguistic consistency and client-specific style guides are followed.
• Client and vendor relations: Serve as main contact for client inquiries, prepare proposals and quotes, negotiate terms with vendors and freelancers, and maintain professional relationships.
• Process improvement: Define standard operating procedures, identify bottlenecks, introduce productivity tools, and maintain documentation for recurring projects.
• Financial and administrative tasks: Oversee invoicing, budget tracking, cost controls, and reporting to support sustainable margins.
• Team coordination and training: Mentor project coordinators and linguists, conduct performance reviews, and organize training on tools and client requirements.

Location and Reporting: The position is office-based in Karachi and reports to the proprietor. You will regularly interact with in-country clients in Pakistan and coordinate with remote linguists as needed. Candidates should be prepared to work typical morning schedules and manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high attention to detail and service quality.

Job Specification

• Proven experience managing operations or projects within translation, localization, maritime, logistics, or related service industries.
• Strong project management skills: scheduling, resource planning, task prioritization, and deadline management.
• Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, memoQ, OmegaT) and localization workflows; ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills; competency in local languages (Urdu/Sindhi) preferred for client liaison and quality checks.
• Vendor management: recruitment, contracting, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution with freelance linguists and voice-over talent.
• Basic financial literacy: preparing quotes, tracking budgets, invoicing, and cost control to protect margins.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to create and maintain SOPs and style guides.
• Interpersonal skills: client communication, negotiation, team coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Comfortable with office productivity software (MS Office, Google Workspace) and project management tools (Trello, Asana, or similar).
