Job summary

Deliveryhero is seeking a senior Lead, Logistics Operations to guide a regional team of Specialists, optimizing rider staffing, daily operations, and performance across markets. You will bridge data-driven strategy with on-the-ground execution to improve delivery times and cost efficiency.

In this role, you will own forecasting, supply planning, and fleet optimization, while collaborating with Finance and Product teams. Strong SQL/Excel skills and excellent English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in high-growth tech, logistics, strategy consulting, or operations management.
• Experience in gig-economy, marketplace dynamics, or logistics is a strong plus.
• Proven track record leading cross-functional teams.

Job description

We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and execution-focused leader to join our regional logistics team as Lead, Logistics Operations. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team of Specialists, owning regional logistics operations, rider staffing frameworks, and daily operational performance across our diverse markets. You will serve as the critical bridge between data-driven strategy and on-the-ground operational execution, ensuring that rider supply is precisely aligned with customer demand to maintain high service levels while maximizing cost efficiency.

You will act as the link between regional business strategy and local execution. By leading your team to optimize daily operations, forecasting models, and supply planning, you will continuously improve delivery times, resolve operational bottlenecks, and drive fleet efficiency at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Logistics Operations Specialists. Build a culture of analytical rigor, curiosity, and operational excellence, empowering your team to challenge the status quo and solve complex marketplace challenges
• Logistics Strategy & Market Performance: Take full ownership of overarching logistics performance for assigned markets across the region. Proactively monitor daily trends, diagnose complex operational issues, and implement data-backed solutions to elevate delivery times, order fulfillment, and customer experience
• Forecasting & Supply Planning: Oversee daily demand planning and rider staffing frameworks. Guide your team in refining forecasting models and shift planning to ensure optimal fleet coverage, balancing strict service level targets with robust cost efficiency and cost-per-order (CPO) targets
• Process Improvement & Automation: Champion a culture of continuous operational improvement. Identify manual bottlenecks across regional workflows, driving the adoption of internal automation, AI productivity tools, and scalable systems to reduce manual workload and increase team efficiency
• Product Rollout & Project Delivery: Spearhead the operational launch of new logistics products, tools, and feature enhancements across markets. Ensure seamless regional execution, perform post-launch impact analyses, and align local market operations with central product and tech teams
• Cross-Functional Leadership & Market Partnership: Act as a strategic partner to Local Logistics Leaders, Finance Leaders, and Product Managers. Translate complex operational data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and standardize best practices across the region

Experience

5+ years of professional experience in high-growth tech, logistics, strategy consulting, or operations management. Experience specifically in gig-economy, marketplace dynamics, or logistics is a strong plus.

Leadership

Proven track record (1-2+ years) of managing direct reports or leading complex, cross-functional project teams.

Education

University degree in STEM, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.

Technical Fluency

Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel is required to audit team work, guide analytical strategy, and dive into data when needed. Experience with Looker and leveraging modern AI productivity tools and automation frameworks to improve operational scalability is highly desired.

Communication

Exceptional English communication skills, both written and spoken. Strong traits of ownership, logical thinking, and accountability, comfortable effectively challenging the status quo, negotiating with senior stakeholders, and presenting to leadership.
