The Junior Production Engineer is responsible for sustained safe shift operations (zero LTI), productive utilization of resources (People and Machinery), while adhering to and monitoring production plan.
Core Responsibilities
- Process – Post shift production & dispatches in SAP system and fulfill manpower requirements for smooth shift operation.
- Achieve shift-wise production targets regarding both quality and quantity and ensure product losses are controlled.
- Write shift-wise production report & mark attendance of workers. See lab results of product and instruct operators accordingly.
- Follow instructions from the Divisional Head given verbally or in writing.
- Ensure operators give correct information on the log sheets and write shift performance report in the logbook.
- Ensure manufacturing materials and supplies are sufficiently drawn from stores in time.
- Coordinate with Shift Chemist to find in‑process non‑conformances and keep different grades of product separately. Ensure weighing scales are in perfect working order.
- Check performance of process equipment and ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping of the entire section.
- Keep liaison with the Shift Engineer of other divisions for shutdown and full/partial operation of the plant during load shedding.
- Ensure deliverables related to ways to operate, continuous improvement and innovation. Continue efforts to improve ways of working and take a logical and analytical approach towards problem solving. Study processes and bring improvements through technological advancement.
- Ensure safety of product, process equipment and workers during shift and ensure use of PPEs at all locations. Ensure all technical works are performed with due work permit. Deliver training on EHS and production processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience preferably 1 year.
- Good manufacturing literacy.
- Knowledge about instrumentation and DCS/SLC operation.
