The Junior Human Resources Associate in Islamabad, Pakistan, plays a crucial role in managing the organization's human resources functions under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and Senior Human Resources Coordinator. This position supports various HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, contract administration, and data management, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and procedures. The role contributes to maintaining an efficient and effective HR service, supporting staff well-being, and ensuring the smooth operation of HR-related activities within the Pakistan mission, aligning with IOM's commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment.
Support recruitment processes by coordinating vacancy announcements, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and preparing necessary documentation. Conduct pre-employment activities, including preparing entry-on-duty documentation, coordinating medical exams, and facilitating orientation sessions. Manage HR system data, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and maintain records of contractual status and entitlements. Act as Timekeeper, managing leave administration, updating leave quotas, and generating reports. Assist with separation, classification, and promotion processes by gathering documentation and obtaining approvals. Maintain electronic and physical HR archiving systems, including personnel and recruitment files. Draft HR-related documents such as certificates of employment and reports. Support the organization of HR events and meetings through logistical arrangements. Respond to general inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.
High School diploma with four years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience. Universities must be accredited and listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Requires relevant experience in human resources administration or personnel support. Experience supporting administrative processes, delivering HR support services, and handling confidential personnel information is essential. Experience coordinating with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment is beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Experience with HRIS/ERP systems and international organizations is advantageous.
Knowledge of HR policies and procedures. Familiarity with recruitment, onboarding, and contract administration. Proficiency in HRIS/ERP systems (preferably Oracle). Understanding of leave administration and data management. Skills in records management and document control. Ability to prepare HR reports and documentation. Working knowledge of UN Common System HR frameworks is advantageous.
