Job summary

HyperNym is hiring an Embedded / IoT Engineer to bridge the field sensor data path to cloud platforms. You will work on telematics devices, sensors, and industrial IoT hardware from multiple vendors, integrating and decoding data for reliable cloud ingestion and processing.

If you are comfortable with serial consoles, packet captures, Python scripting, and the Azure portal, this role is for you. You will support end-to-end device data flows and analytics on Azure.

Qualifications

• IoT experience and understanding of sensor-to-cloud data paths.
• Hands-on experience with embedded systems and telematics.
• Strong English communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate GPS/GNSS trackers and sensors from multiple vendors.
• Connect devices to the cloud using MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, AMQP, and TCP/UDP.
• Build cloud ingestion pipelines on Azure IoT Hub and Functions.
• Parse binary/hex/JSON/proprietary payloads into structured data.
• Read protocol specifications and implement parsers and integrations.
• Troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity and data quality issues.
• Work with RS-232/485, CAN, Modbus, and sensors.
• Run device commands, bench tests and field validation.
• Write Python for automation and testing.
• Document integrations and data flows clearly.
• Collaborate with backend teams to ensure proper data landing.
