Job summary

Descon is seeking a proactive project coordinator to support multiple engineering projects in Pakistan. You will map work breakdown structures, monitor schedules, and coordinate with site teams to keep projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Matrix to show split of work into zones / areas and disciplines to define responsibilities.
• Reviewing WBS and OBS to prepare their mapping.
• Budgeting & Financial Controls: Ensure timely preparation of project budget by analyzing project scope and execution plan; initiate revisions as required; share cost trends, cash flow forecasts, and financial risks with the Finance department in order to control project costs and maintain profitability.
• Budgeting & Financial Controls: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of shop drawings, technical submittals, and other contractual documentation by implementing a robust document control system to prevent construction errors and enable effective claims management.
• Environmental, Legal & Social Compliance: Identify and highlight environmental, legal, and social compliance issues during the execution phase and ensure that these are addressed in accordance with donor/funding agency and regulatory requirements (if applicable), in order to avoid legal and reputational risks
• Resource & Equipment Coordination: Coordinate with the execution team to allocate manpower and equipment daily; liaise with Admin for mobilization of manpower and with Warehouse/Equipment teams for material and equipment availability and utilization to ensure efficient resource management at site.
• Project Schedule Control: Monitor project progress regularly using system-generated reports and site feedback; implement corrective actions in case of schedule deviation in order to achieve timely completion of milestones as per contractual commitments.
• Project HR Management: Organize and manage project human resources by coordinating with HRM and PP&A for acquiring, developing and managing project team.
• Project Execution: Ensure execution of the project as per plan while taking corrective actions when required, in order to complete the project within time and budget.
• Managing People: Ensure the effective achievement of departmental objectives through the leadership–setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate and the performance of the section.
• Taking the Ownership of Company QHSE Policy: Accountable to create a safe working environment, manage risks, reduce exposure to hazardous liability and ensure implementation of QHSE policy
• Comply with all QA/QC standards (DIMS documents) as applicable to the company systems, policies, procedures, and documents in order to deliver the expected quality of work.
