Job summary

CDM Smith in Pakistan seeks a Construction Engineer (Deputy Team Leader) to support a 72-month Sindh Coastal Resilience project. The role leads construction planning, supervises civil works, and coordinates with PIUs, contractors, and supervision teams.

Based primarily in Hyderabad with field visits, you will ensure compliance with technical specs, environmental and safety safeguards, and QA/QC standards while mentoring junior engineers and supporting monthly and quarterly reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience.
• At least 10 years supervising large-scale drainage, irrigation and bund rehabilitation projects.
• Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts and government coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction planning and supervision, including review of work programs and QA/QC plans.
• Oversee civil works for embankments, drains, irrigation and bund rehab projects.
• Ensure compliance with technical specs, safeguards, and contractual requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and PIU staff in supervision and QA/QC practices.
• Support team leader with stakeholder consultations and progress reporting.
