Job summary

JazzWorld is seeking a Head of Transport Network Operations in Islamabad to lead end‑to‑end transport and data center network operations across Optical, IP, Microwave and VSAT. You will own availability, resilience, performance and the evolution of JazzWorld's networks, while building tomorrow's capabilities through automation and modernization.

The role requires 15+ years in telecom/networking with 8+ years in leadership, a degree in Engineering or CS, and a track record of driving

Qualifications

• 15+ years of telecom/networking experience with leadership track record.
• Deep expertise across IP/MPLS, DWDM/Optical, Microwave, Ethernet and transmission.
• Strong knowledge of Internet, CDN, IGW, Enterprise, FTTH and Data Center networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end Transport and Data Center Network Operations with world‑class availability and SLA performance.
• Identify and deliver optimization, automation and capacity initiatives.
• Own service integration across Telco, Enterprise, IGW, Optical and Data Center networks.
• Provide incident leadership, RCA and continuous improvement to reduce MTTR and business impact.
• Drive vendor and investment decisions, CAPEX/OPEX planning and cost optimization.

As Head Transport Network Operations, you will own the availability, resilience, performance and evolution of JazzWorld's transport and data centre active networks. You will lead large-scale operations across Optical, IP, Microwave and VSAT, while driving network transformation, automation, optimization and operational excellence.

What you'll own

• Lead end-to-end Transport and Data Center Network Operations, ensuring world-class availability, resilience, service continuity and SLA performance across Optical, IP, Microwave and VSAT networks.
• Shape and transform the network for what's next by identifying and delivering optimization, automation and technology initiatives that improve performance, capacity, scalability and operational efficiency.
• Own end-to-end service integration and operationalization across Telco, Enterprise, IGW, Optical and Data Center networks, ensuring seamless and reliable service delivery.
• Keep the network ahead of disruption through strong service assurance, major incident leadership, RCA and continuous improvement reducing MTTR, eliminating recurring faults and minimizing business impact.
• Lead technology, vendor and investment decisions, from technical RFPs, requirements and solution evaluation through vendor selection, OEM performance, CAPEX/OPEX planning and cost optimization.
• Drive operational excellence and governance, strengthening resilience, redundancy and disaster recovery readiness, while ensuring disciplined SOP/MOP adherence and safe, timely network changes with minimal service impact.
• Turn network data into actionable insights, providing visibility on availability, incidents, capacity, utilization, risks and key improvement priorities.
• Build a high-performing, future-ready operations team through technical capability building, performance management, succession planning and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Requirements

You may be a strong fit if you:

• Bring 15+ years of telecom/networking experience, including 8+ years in leadership.
• Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Have deep expertise across IP/MPLS, DWDM/Optical, Microwave, Ethernet and transmission, with strong knowledge of Internet, CDN, IGW, Enterprise, FTTH and Data Center networks.
• Understand Cloud Networking, IPv6, automation and modern network architectures, with a track record of network transformation and modernization.
• Combine technical depth with strategic thinking, commercial acumen and strong execution.
• Lead confidently across teams, vendors and senior stakeholders, with strong negotiation and communication skills.
