HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Job Role
The position of Head of Business Development will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for leading and driving all sales and business development activities of the renewable Company, with a primary focus on achieving revenue targets and expanding the customer base. The renewable company is a leading developer, focused on energy as service contracts executing power purchase agreements and rental lease models. The successful candidate will be accountable for the entire business development and sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification through to establishing & closing power purchase profitable transactions and managing key accounts for the Company.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for generating sales opportunities and negotiating contracts including onshore and offshore wind, solar and battery storage projects and other renewables
- Define project scope, budget estimation, execution strategies, deliverable that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders and management
- Refine strategies for the development of renewable energy projects in Solar, Onshore and Offshore Wind, Battery Energy Storage and other renewables.
- Lead and manage the sales team / sales channel partnerships (importers/ distributors) to achieve revenue targets, drive pipeline growth, and close high-value contracts including but not limited to, solar and battery storage projects and other renewables.
- Develop and execute a robust sales strategy with clear targets, KPIs and performance metrics to measure team and individual success.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking and relationship management with key importers, distributors, clients, OEMs, EPC contractors, government and regulatory parties.
- Lead commercial negotiations, proposals delivery, requirements documentation and completion of contracts and legal documents with project stakeholders.
- Advise on deal structures; develop end-to-end sales processes to effectively and efficiently close deals.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, publications and reports to identify new sales opportunities and maintain competitive positioning in the renewable energy sector.
- Create strong market presence, grow revenue and increase the Company's market share in renewables.
Education
- Minimum 16 years of education preferably masters from a renowned HEC recognized university or institution/equivalent foreign degree holder preferably in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience preferably in a large national/multinational organization with at least 5–7 years of related functional experience in sales leadership in energy sector.
Key Requirements
- Experience in renewable energy industry, especially in delivering / contributing in successful closure of power purchase agreements / energy equipment lease
- Demonstrated experience in business development & sales with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets, preferably in renewable energy industry.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and coaching high-performing sales teams.
- Excellent negotiation and deal-closing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and proactively.
- Excellent organizational, strategic planning and implementation skills.
- Ability to travel as per requirement.
