General Manager – Operations

Job Purpose

The General Manager / Director – Operations will provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the organization’s Supply Chain, Logistics, and Warehouse functions, ensuring operational efficiency, cost optimization, effective inventory management, and alignment with overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for Supply Chain, Logistics and Warehouse Operations.


• Develop and implement integrated supply chain and logistics strategies aligned with organizational business objectives.


• Oversee inventory management, warehousing, logistics, distribution and order fulfillment to ensure operational efficiency and service excellence.


• Drive cost optimization, productivity, process efficiency and continuous improvement across all relevant functions.


• Establish, monitor, and review KPIs, targets and performance standards for Supply Chain, Logistics, and Warehouse teams.


• Ensure optimum inventory levels, stock availability, inventory accuracy and working capital efficiency.


• Review, streamline, and continuously improve supply chain processes, policies, procedures and SOPs.


• Ensure effective utilization of SAP and other relevant systems for inventory, warehouse, logistics, and supply chain management.


• Strengthen demand and supply planning, inventory forecasting, replenishment, and coordination with relevant business functions.


• Identify operational, supply, logistics, and inventory-related risks and develop appropriate mitigation, contingency and business continuity plans.


• Lead, mentor, and develop departmental heads and teams, ensuring accountability, capability development and high performance.


• Ensure effective cross-functional coordination with Finance, Sales, Procurement, Commercial and other key functions to achieve business and operational objectives.


• Review and manage operational budgets, ensuring effective cost control and optimum utilization of resources.


• Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, SOPs, regulatory requirements and internal controls across Supply Chain, Logistics and Warehouse operations.


• Monitor supplier, logistics partner and service-provider performance and drive corrective actions where required.


• Identify operational gaps, assess root causes and develop and recommend effective solutions to senior management.


• Lead strategic initiatives focused on business growth, operational excellence, digitalization, process improvement and supply chain transformation.

Requirements

• SAP: Strong hands-on experience and proficiency in SAP, particularly for Supply Chain, Inventory, Warehouse, and Logistics Management.


• Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field.


• Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse, and Operations, with significant experience in a senior management role.


• Strong leadership, strategic planning, analytical, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.


• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational improvements.


• Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry will be preferred.
