Job summary

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) invites applications for the Data Analyst – Media Monitoring position in the External Communications Department (ECD), based in Karachi. The role centers on building dashboards that visualize media metrics, sentiment analysis, and campaign performance for senior management with timely, actionable insights.

You will serve as the POC for media monitoring agencies, refine dashboards, and track tone across print, electronic, and digital media to support informed decision

Job description

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Central Bank, is looking for talented and energetic candidates for the following OG-3 position in External Communications Department (ECD), based in Karachi.

Data Analyst – Media Monitoring

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

• Develop and manage interactive dashboards to visualize key media metrics, campaign performance, and sentiment analysis, ensuring the senior management has timely access to actionable insights.
• Act as Point of Contact (POC) and ensure continuous improvement and refinement in media monitoring dashboards, in line with evolving business needs and emerging media trends, to deliver more insightful, customized reports.
• Act as Focal Person for electronic & social media monitoring agency for enhancing media monitoring processes, including sentiment analysis, trend detection, and content categorization, to ensure accurate, real-time reporting.
• Ensure to provide in-depth analysis of media coverage by using advanced analytics tools; identify trends, patterns, and emerging topics, and present findings through visually compelling and easy-to-understand dashboards for the Bank's senior management.
• Track and analyze media sentiment, share of voice, tone, and narrative shifts related to SBP and the financial sector across print, electronic, and digital media platforms.
• Divide media stories into categories for archival needs and ensure all follow-up stories are made part of the relevant category.
• Conduct comparative analysis of SBP's media presence against industry benchmarks to identify strengths, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop standardized reporting frameworks, KPIs, and benchmarks to evaluate media visibility, reputational impact, and communication effectiveness.
• Support crisis communications and reputational risk management by providing timely alerts, issue escalation insights, and rapid analytical briefs during sensitive media situations.
• Perform any other task assigned by the senior management from time to time.
