Job summary

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) invites applications for Statistical Officers (OG-2) under the SOTS 9th Batch. The positions are based in Karachi and offer a dynamic career in Statistics and Data Services.

Selected candidates will undergo pre-induction training at NIBAF Islamabad as Trainees and, upon successful completion, will be appointed as Assistant Director (OG-2) at SBP in Karachi with a structured salary scale and allowances.

Qualifications

• 16 years of education with at least 60 percent marks (or 2.5/4.0 or 3.5/5.0 where GPA applies) in Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or Data Sciences.
• Foreign degrees require equivalence certificate from HEC.

Responsibilities

• Shortlisted candidates will undergo written test, group discussion/psychometric testing and panel interview.
• Selected candidates will undergo residential training at NIBAF Pakistan in Islamabad as Trainees and then be appointed as Assistant Director (OG-2) in Karachi.

Job description

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Central Bank, is looking for young, talented, and energetic candidates for the positions of Statistical Officers (OG-2) under Statistical Officers Training Scheme (SOTS) - 9th Batch. The Bank offers rewarding and challenging career in Statistics and Data Services Department.
The positions are based in Karachi.

Eligibility Criteria:

Master's, Bachelor's or equivalent degree with 16 years of education with at least 60 percent marks where percentages apply or 2.5 out of 4.0 or 3.5 out of 5.0 where GPA system is applicable from HEC recognized Pakistani and Foreign institutions in Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or Data Sciences. In case of foreign degree, equivalence certificate from HEC would be required.

Application and Testing Procedure:

• Interested Pakistani citizens (including Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan) meeting the above eligibility criteria are required to visit the SBP website(https://www.sbp.org.pk/careers/status.asp )and follow the procedure for submission of the online application(https://career.sbp.org.pk/login ). The Career Page may also be accessed by scanning the QR Code given on the right.
• Age will be considered as per CNIC.
• Applications devoid of required information and details such as photograph, date of birth, or any other important information will not be shortlisted.
• Applications not in accordance with the defined requirements/criteria mentioned in the advertisement will not be entertained.
• The last date for submission of applications is December 22, 2025. Applications submitted in person or through e-mail will not be entertained.
• A pre-induction written test will be conducted at designated centers through a Testing Agency, which will inform shortlisted candidates via SMS, send admit cards to their postal addresses, and upload them on its website. No fee is required to be paid for the test.
• Details of candidates qualifying the written test will be uploaded by the Testing Agency on its website.

The candidates shortlisted on the basis of written test and meeting other eligibility criteria will be invited for further selection process including group discussion/psychometric testing and panel interview. Candidates will be required to bring original educational/professional documents, Equivalence Certificate from HEC (in case of foreign qualification), Domicile and CNIC.

Any candidate who misinforms, attempts to influence the recruitment process in any manner, tries to obtain support for his/her candidature by inappropriate means or tampers with evidence of his/her age, educational and other certificates, shall be disqualified from the current and any future recruitment process at the Bank; even if the candidate is otherwise eligible. Candidate who fails to provide the required information or documents or does not meet the specified criteria as per advertisement shall be disqualified from the current drive.

Pre-Induction Training:

After successfully completing all pre-induction formalities as per rules of the Bank including medical and psychological examinations, as well as providing proof of completed education, the selected candidates shall undergo Applied Focused Theoretical Training (residential) at National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) Pakistan at Islamabad as Trainees. The trainees who successfully complete and qualify the training will be offered appointment as Assistant Director (OG-2) at SBP, located in Karachi.

Compensation Package:

• Until induction in the Bank, trainees shall be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 41,000.
• Upon successful completion of the training, trainees will be offered appointment as Assistant Director (OG-2) with a monthly monetized salary of Rs. 82,000, along with other allowances and benefits as per the Bank’s OG-2 salary scale and rules.
