Job summary

Abbott Pakistan is seeking an experienced HR Director to lead the HR strategy for the country from our Karachi office. You will partner with senior business leaders to align HR and business goals, and work closely with unions and local bodies to ensure constructive labor relations.

You will build the talent pipeline, review country-wide HR policies with the Compensation & Benefits Practice Center, manage budgets, and allocate HR resources to support growth across commercial and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s degree a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Urdu.
• Leadership experience across multiple levels.
• Experience in a multinational company.
• 10+ years HR experience; 5+ years in management.
• Broad knowledge of HR functional areas.
• Experience in Commercial and Manufacturing Operations.

The Opportunity
This position works out of our Karachi office and is part of the Business Human Resources Division.

The HR Director designs country-level HR strategy to meet the needs of the business and ensures quality delivery of all HR functional services. They must align goals between local functions, local business need, and corporate functional strategy. They also work very closely with local unions and other related bodies in the country.

What You’ll Work On
As the HR Director of Abbott Pakistan your responsibilities include:

• Partnership with the business to ensure that business strategy and HR strategy support one another.
• Build the organizational talent pipeline by planning and contributing to key developmental experiences (e.g., leadership, cross-functional, technical, and global perspective) for employees within the country.
• Implement and conduct on-going reviews of country-wide HR policies and procedures in coordination with Compensation & Benefits Practice Center..
• Act as a steward of departmental assets by managing budgets and cost structures within the country.
• Ensures positive employee/labor relations climate by supporting and facilitating negotiations information and consultation with unions at the country level.
• Allocate HR functional resources within a country to ensure the needs of the business operating there are being met in a satisfactory fashion.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum), Masters or MBA is a plus.
• English and Urdu language proficiency required.
• Leadership experience with multiple levels of professionals.
• Experience working in a multinational company.
• 10+ years experience in HR, 5+ years of management
• Working knowledge of most (if not all) HR functional areas.
• Good experience in both Commercial and Manufacturing Operations
