Job summary

FORTEK Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Deputy Manager (Electrical) for Raw Power to lead high-stakes electrical infrastructure across client sites nationwide. The role blends hands-on supervision with portfolio-level oversight, focusing on generators, transformers, ATS/AMF, UPS, and cooling-system electricals.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of progressive Raw Power experience, multi-site leadership, and PMP or PEC credentials. Travel across Pakistan is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • PMP or equivalent project/portfolio management certification is strongly preferred.
  • Engineering candidates with strong multi-site leadership track records will be given preference.
  • PEC registration is a strong plus for engineering-qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, commissioning, and maintenance of generators and transformers across project sites.
  • Supervise ATS/UPS panels, LV/MV distribution, and switchgear installations.
  • Oversee cooling system electrical works, with power feeds and interlocks.
  • Supervise cable trays, cabling, and containment across sites to ensure safety and quality.
  • Provide overall project and site supervision as a single technical point of accountability.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and subcontractors for materials and services.
  • Ensure QA/QC, safety protocols, and compliance with IEC/PEC/NFPA standards.
  • Manage documentation, budgeting, and reporting for Raw Power work packages.

Deputy Manager (DM) - Electrical (Raw Power)

The Deputy Manager – Electrical (Raw Power) is a senior mid-leveltechnical leadership role within Fortek's Technical & Projects department,holding portfolio-level ownership of Raw Power infrastructure delivery —including generators, transformers, ATS/AMF panels, UPS systems, cooling systemelectrical works, and cable tray/cable laying installations — across multipleclient sites nationwide. Operating from the vendor/systems-integrator side ofPakistan's ICT infrastructure landscape, the role combines hands-on technicalsupervision with overall project oversight where required, ensuring reliableand standards-compliant power delivery across the portfolio.

This position demands strong technical command of generator, transformer,ATS/UPS, and cooling-system electrical works, along with cable containment andlaying expertise, paired with proven site/project supervision andteam-leadership capability. The incumbent will act as a key deputy to theManager – Technical & Projects, ensuring consistent, safe, and high-qualityRaw Power infrastructure delivery within Fortek's Managed Services (SLA)domain.

Job Experience Required:
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in Raw Power / electricalinfrastructure works — including generators, transformers, ATS/AMF panels, UPSsystems, cooling system electricals, and cable tray/cable laying installations— including demonstrated experience leading teams and/or overall projectsupervision, preferably gained within the ICT infrastructure, systemsintegration, data center, or managed services (SLA) industry on thevendor/integrator side. Proven exposure to multi-site supervision, vendor coordination,and site-level project ownership is strongly preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Generator & Transformer Installation and Maintenance

  • Lead the installation,commissioning, and lifecycle maintenance of diesel generators and transformersacross project and client sites.
  • Oversee load-bank testing,synchronization, and parallel-operation configurations for generator sets.
  • Supervise transformercommissioning, oil testing, and periodic maintenance in line with OEM andsafety standards.
  • Own preventive maintenanceschedules and downtime-reduction plans for all generator and transformer assetsunder the portfolio.
  • Coordinate major repairs,overhauls, and OEM service interventions for critical generator/transformerequipment.

2. ATS Panels, UPS & Power Distribution Systems

  • Supervise installation, testing,and commissioning of ATS/AMF panels, LV/MV distribution panels, and switchgear.
  • Oversee UPS system installation,battery bank health, load testing, and runtime validation across sites.
  • Ensure power redundancyconfigurations (N+1 / 2N as applicable) are correctly designed, implemented,and verified.
  • Review single-line diagrams (SLDs)and panel schedules to confirm alignment with approved designs and BOQs.
  • Drive fault diagnosis, root-causeanalysis, and timely resolution of ATS/UPS/panel-related incidents.

3. Cooling System Electrical Works Supervision

  • Supervise electrical works relatedto cooling systems (precision AC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units) including powerfeeds, control wiring, and interlocks.
  • Coordinate with mechanical/HVACteams to ensure electrical scope of cooling installations is delivered onschedule and to specification.
  • Oversee testing and commissioningof cooling system electrical components, including redundancy and failoverchecks.
  • Monitor cooling system powerconsumption and electrical health as part of overall site reliabilitymanagement.

4. Cable Trays, Cable Laying & Containment Works

  • Supervise design and installationof cable tray systems, containment routes, and cable management infrastructureacross sites.
  • Oversee power and control cablelaying, termination, and testing in line with approved drawings and industrystandards.
  • Ensure proper cable segregation,labeling, bending radius, and load capacity compliance across allinstallations.
  • Review as-built drawings and cableschedules for accuracy prior to project closeout.
  • Coordinate cable works sequencingwith civil, mechanical, and other MEP trades to avoid site conflicts.

5. Overall Project & Site Supervision

  • Provide overall projectsupervision on assigned sites where required — coordinating across electricalscopes (generators, transformers, ATS/UPS, cooling, cabling) as a single pointof technical accountability.
  • Track project timelines, manpowerdeployment, and material availability to ensure on-schedule delivery.
  • Liaise with Project Management,clients, and consultants to resolve site-level technical and coordinationissues.
  • Conduct site walkthroughs,punch-list reviews, and readiness checks ahead of testing, commissioning, andhandover.
  • Escalate scope, schedule, orresource risks to the Manager – Technical & Projects in a timely manner.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluateperformance of Assistant Managers, Site Supervisors, and technicians engaged inRaw Power works.
  • Coordinate with OEM vendors,subcontractors, and equipment suppliers for generators, transformers, ATS/UPS,and cabling materials.
  • Identify training needs and buildteam capability on generator, transformer, UPS, and cabling best practices.

7. Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce QA/QC checkpoints acrossgenerator, transformer, ATS/UPS, cooling-electrical, and cabling works,including FAT/SAT documentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safetyprotocols — LOTO, PPE, and permit-to-work — for all Raw Power installation andmaintenance activities.
  • Maintain compliance withapplicable standards (IEC, NEC, PEC, NFPA) and internal HSE policies across allsite works.
  • Investigate incidents/near-missesrelated to Raw Power systems and drive corrective and preventive actions.

8. Documentation, Budgeting & Reporting

  • Maintain technical documentationincluding test reports, as-built drawings, completion certificates, and assetregisters.
  • Track budgets, materialconsumption, and cost variances for Raw Power work packages across theportfolio.
  • Provide periodic progress reportsand escalation summaries to the Manager – Technical & Projects.
  • Support proposal development andtechnical submittals for Raw Power-related scopes of work.
Reporting Responsibilities (Daily, Weekly & Monthly)
Daily Reporting
  • Review open tickets/escalations related to generators, transformers, ATS/UPS, cooling electricals, and cabling works; direct priorities.
  • Check in with Assistant Managers/Site Supervisors on critical site progress and blockers.
  • Monitor safety compliance status across active sites and address any red flags immediately.
  • Review and approve urgent material/spare-parts requisitions.
Weekly Reporting
  • Conduct portfolio-level maintenance and reliability reviews for generators, transformers, ATS/UPS, and cooling electricals.
  • Review progress on cable tray installation and cable laying works against project schedules.
  • Hold leadership meetings with Assistant Managers/Supervisors on workload, manpower, and site priorities.
  • Submit weekly portfolio progress, SLA compliance, and budget-utilization reports to the Manager – Technical & Projects.
Monthly Reporting
  • Prepare monthly portfolio performance, downtime, and financial variance reports for senior management.
  • Review budget utilization, cost variances, and margin performance across Raw Power projects and contracts.
  • Conduct performance reviews for Assistant Managers/Supervisors and identify succession/training needs.
  • Lead compliance audits/inspections across sites and ensure documentation is fully updated.
