Job summary

HBL is seeking an experienced professional to lead delivery planning and coordination for a core banking transformation project in Karachi. You will map tasks, timelines and milestones in collaboration with leads, and align with engineering, infrastructure and operations teams to ensure milestones are met.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, risk awareness and a track record in banking technology programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelors, Computer science or a qualitative subject.
• PMP or a Project / Delivery Management Certification desirable.
• An overall 7+ years of increasing experience in Banking, Project Management, Technology Management in a leading bank or financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive plan / WBS for assigned delivery bucket with tasks, timelines, milestones in coordination with leads.
• Coordinate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Establish communication channels and protocols to facilitate collaboration.
• Understand technical aspects of the core banking transformation domain and assist stakeholders in milestones.
• Collaborate with Engineering, EA, Infrastructure & Operations, TCoE, DCoE and align requirements for successful delivery of milestones.
• Implement and oversee processes to assess delivery milestones and ensure deliverables meet stakeholders' expectations and program standards.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Analyze and redesign end-to-end payment processes including Domestic, Real-Time, ACH, Cross-Border, SWIFT, Bulk, Corporate, Standing Instructions and Scheduled Payments.
• Design payment flows and interfaces with solution architects; support integration with Core Banking, Digital Channels, Gateways, Switches, SWIFT, Clearning Houses; define API and middleware requirements.
• Validate payment workflows, exception handling, reconciliation; identify risks and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Engage with stakeholders, manage expectations, provide updates and address concerns in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with Technical teams (Engineering, EA, Infrastructure & Operations, TCoE, DCoE) and align to understand the requirements & work closely for successful delivery of milestones.

Delivery Status Assessment

• Implement and oversee processes to assess delivery milestone.
• Ensure that deliverables meet, in line with the stakeholders’ expectations and program delivery standards.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement.

Payments Transformation

• Analyze and redesign end-to-end payment processes covering:
• Domestic Transfers
• Real-Time Payments
• ACH Transactions
• Cross-Border Payments
• SWIFT Payments
• Bulk Payments
• Corporate Payments
• Standing Instructions and Scheduled Payments
• Support implementation of modern payment capabilities within the target core banking platform.
• Define future-state payment operating models and customer journeys.
• Identify opportunities for process simplification, automation, and straight-through processing (STP).

Payment Systems & Integrations

• Work with solution architects and implementation teams to design payment flows and interfaces.
• Support integration requirements involving:
• Core Banking System
• Digital Channels
• Payment Gateways
• Switches
• SWIFT Network
• Clearing Houses
• Regulatory Platforms
• Assist in defining API and middleware requirements supporting payment services.
• Validate payment workflows, exception handling, and reconciliation processes.
• Identify potential risks and issues related to respective delivery bucket.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Regularly assess and update risk assessments throughout the project.

Stakeholder Management

• Understand organization hierarchy and team structure to
• Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Manage expectations and provide regular updates on project progress.
• Address concerns and issues raised by stakeholders in a timely manner.
