Job summary

Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi seeks an experienced leader to oversee Nursing Services administration and the College of Nursing. The role coordinates with the Chief Nursing Officer and the Principal of the College to align clinical care and education with standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive healthcare administration experience, strong leadership, and a track record in regulatory compliance and quality improvement within nursing services and nursing education.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee all administrative and training matters relating to Nursing Services and the College of Nursing, in coordination with Chief Nursing Officer and Principal, College of Nursing.
• Ensure the provision of quality nursing care services, maintenance of staff discipline, and compliance with established work processes, policies, and standards of nursing care.
• Oversee the quality of education and training at the College of Nursing, ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional bodies.
• Oversee student-related matters, including discipline and other student affairs, addressing matters promptly.
• Maintain liaison with Heads of Departments, QA, HR, Director Administration, and Chairperson Nursing Committee for coordination of nursing and administrative functions.
• Serve as a member of the Nursing Committee and contribute to initiatives for nursing services and nursing education.
• Lead initiatives to enhance capacity, capabilities, quality, and professional standing of Nursing Services and College of Nursing.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in nursing administration, education, training, and professional development.

Job description

• Oversee all administrative and training matters relating to Nursing Services and the College of Nursing, in coordination with Chief Nursing Officer and Principal, College of Nursing, respectively.
• Ensure the provision of quality nursing care services, maintenance of staff discipline, and compliance with established work processes, policies, and standards of nursing care.
• Oversee the quality of education and training at the College of Nursing, ensuring compliance with the requirements of relevant regulatory and professional bodies.
• Oversee student-related matters, including discipline and other student affairs at College of Nursing, and ensure that such matters are addressed promptly and appropriately.
• Maintain close liaison with all Heads of Departments, including the Quality Assurance Department, Head of HR, Director Administration, and Chairperson Nursing Committee, to ensure effective coordination and integration of nursing and administrative functions.
• Serve as a member of the Nursing Committee and actively contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives relating to nursing services and nursing education.
• Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the capacity, capabilities, quality, and professional standing of Nursing Services and College of Nursing.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in nursing administration, education, training, and professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

• MBBS/MBA/MScN or equivalent qualification, with more than 20 years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry including 8-10 years of senior-level experience in healthcare administration, preferably with substantial exposure to Nursing Services and nursing education.
• Strong leadership, administrative, coordination, and people-management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior clinical, academic, nursing, administrative, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of healthcare quality standards, regulatory requirements, and rules and regulations.
