Job summary

Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi is seeking a qualified Senior Nurse to assign patients to staff and ensure timely nursing care. Candidates should have at least 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, with a focus on ICU or ER specialization preferred.

The role involves daily patient visits, updating management on nursing issues, and fostering team discipline, all within a 24-hour shift rotation. Effective communication in English and Urdu, as well as proficiency in MS Office, are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years clinical experience in an acute care setting as Senior Nurse or Head Nurse.
• Registered with PNC, specialization in ICU, ER preferred.
• Certified in BLS, ACLS, and ECG preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign patients to staff based on patient care needs.
• Ensure timely nursing care as per physician’s orders.
• Visit patients daily to assess care and obtain feedback.
• Update Nursing Management on care issues in units.
• Maintain good staff relationships and ensure discipline.

Job description

• Assign patients to staff as per patient care needs and available staffing.
• Ensures that staffs carry out required nursing care timely as per physician’s orders including medication, procedures and diagnostic tests.
• Visit patients in assigned units daily to review condition and to assess nursing care and obtain feedback and address any problem or issues identified/conveyed
• Update Nursing Management regarding nursing/patient care issues in assigned units.
• Ensure good working relationship with staff and motive for quality nursing care ensure staff discipline in assigned units.
• Facilitate implementation of EMR in assigned units ensuring effective utilization by self and team members.
• Any other assignment as given by HOD Nursing or Controller Nursing Administration or the Medical Director.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Post RN BSc.N or BSc. General Nursing with at least 5 years clinical experience in an acute care setting as Senior Nurse or Head Nurse.
• Should be registered with PNC. Those having specialization in ICU, ER, and additional diploma in Health management, certified for BLS, ACLS and ECG will be preferred.
• Supervisory skills to lead and guide team members.
• Should have good communication skills in English and Urdu and proficient in use of MS Office.
• This is a shift job covering 24 hours for which there is a periodic shift rotation
