Job summary

S&P Global Market Intelligence is seeking a Commercial Data Associate to support the MI Commercial Data team by building and enhancing Power BI dashboards, ensuring data quality, and enabling data‑driven decision making across key commercial workflows. The role involves data extraction from sources such as Salesforce and SQL, data governance, and collaboration with stakeholders to improve forecasting, pipeline health and customer engagement.

Fresher or up to 6 months experience welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• Fresher or up to 6 months of experience.
• Strong data analysis and statistical concepts.
• Proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables and Power Query.
• Hands-on experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data transformation, DAX, and reporting best practices.
• Knowledge of SQL and/or SOQL; data warehouses and reporting platforms are a plus.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with trend identification.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate data into insights.

Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for data correction, cleansing and quality assurance of data collected and processed in Salesforce.
• Assist in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards.
• Perform basic data validation and reconciliation to ensure dashboards reflect trusted data.
• Serve as a data quality resource and point of contact for managing data issues and root cause analysis.
• Use and transform commercial and Finance data to produce descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses.
• Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
• Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
• Perform and understand data extraction and analysis from various sources (Salesforce, SQL, etc.).
• Follow established data governance, documentation, and reporting best practices.
