Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Canadian payroll experience.
• Experience with source deductions, T4s, ROEs, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Canadian statutory requirements and reporting.
• Experience using QuickBooks or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and processing of weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly Canadian payroll.
• Support payroll for multiple divisions and both unionized and non-unionized employees.
• Review approved timesheets, hours, earnings, deductions, benefits, overtime, time off, and banking information.
• Verify payroll-related tax calculations and investigate discrepancies.
• Update employee salary rates, wage adjustments, and payroll-related changes.
• Prepare subcontractor payroll as required.
• Ensure payroll information is processed accurately and employees are paid on time.
• Prepare and maintain payroll records, pay statements, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare Records of Employment through ROE Web.
• Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports.
• Reconcile payroll reports and assist with monthly bank reconciliations.
• Support payroll audits and year-end balancing.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, overtime, deductions, benefits, time off, and payroll discrepancies.
