Job summary

Motive seeks a Billing Specialist to ensure accurate and timely billing across the quote-to-cash process. You will process charges, generate invoices, review credits and refunds, and resolve billing issues using established controls.

You will collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Accounts, and Order Management to maintain data quality and support month-end close. Strong attention to detail and Excel/ERP proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of billing, accounts receivable, payments, finance operations, or related experience.
• Experience reviewing invoices, billing data, payments, credits, refunds, or account information in a high-volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and data accuracy.
• Ability to follow procedures, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and upscale exceptions.
• Clear written and verbal communication across Finance, Operations, Sales, Customer Success, and Order Management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard billing activities, including processing charges, monitoring billing status, generating invoices, and resolving routine inconsistencies.
• Review billing documents, account data, and supporting information for accuracy; obtain missing information and maintain data integrity.
• Create invoices and customized billing requests; review and validate credits and refunds per procedures.
• Research and resolve billing-related support cases, including invoice questions, payment issues, and standard disputes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Account Management, Order Management to resolve blockers and ensure data quality.
• Support month-end close by completing billing activities and period cutoff procedures; provide timely reporting.
• Follow billing SOPs and controls; maintain records in electronic systems and identify recurring issues for process improvements.
