Job summary

Cybernet, a part of the Lakson Group, is Pakistan’s largest FTTX provider offering end-to-end connectivity across 29+ cities. The Associate GIS Surveyor will support fiber optic network planning, deployment, and maintenance through field surveys, GIS data collection, and mapping.

The role requires attention to detail, proactivity, and a passion for GIS and field surveying. You will work closely with GIS, ODN, and Fiber Planning teams to ensure accurate mapping of fiber infrastructure for network

Qualifications

• 2 years of GIS-based field surveying experience
• Degree in Geography/GIS/Geomatics or related field
• Familiarity with GPS devices and GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD or Google Earth

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys for fiber optic networks to collect accurate data on existing and planned infrastructure
• Perform route mapping for fiber cables, ducts, manholes, poles, and splicing locations
• Use GPS and GIS tools to ensure precise data collection and location accuracy
• Convert field data into GIS-compatible formats and update the fiber network database
• Ensure accurate mapping of fiber connectivity including OLTs, ONTs and backbone networks
• Identify and report discrepancies during surveys with proper documentation and photographic evidence

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, proactive, and passionate about GIS and field surveying.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in GIS-based field surveying, preferably in fiber optic networks
• Hands-on experience with GPS devices and GIS tools such as ArcGIS QGIS AutoCADor Google Earth
• Basic knowledge of fiber optic networks ODN components and GPON architecture.
• Understanding of coordinate systems spatial data accuracy and network mapping
• Willingness to work in field environments and travel as required
