The Associate Dean of Teaching & Learning will play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Team and School Leadership to provide strategic and operational leadership for all teaching and learning activities at Ignition Pro School for Entrepreneurs. This position will focus on fostering innovation, promoting excellence in education, and ensuring an exceptional academic experience for students. The successful candidate will champion best practices in teaching, assessment, and student engagement while aligning with the institution’s mission to empower aspiring entrepreneurs.
The key driver is to promote success for all students by creating an inclusive, vibrant, and dynamic learning environment that supports their personal and professional growth as future entrepreneurs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership in Teaching & Learning:
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the development, implementation, and review of undergraduate and postgraduate programs within the School.
- Ensure alignment with institutional goals, quality standards, and innovative teaching methodologies to enhance the student academic experience.
- Lead initiatives to integrate entrepreneurship-focused pedagogy, leveraging digital tools and resources to support active and collaborative learning.
Promoting Innovation and Excellence:
- Foster a culture of innovation in teaching and learning, encouraging the use of technology, experiential learning, and real-world applications to prepare students for entrepreneurial success.
- Promote student partnership and engagement, positioning students as co-creators of their learning journey and change agents within the School.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Work closely with the Senior Management Team and Heads of Departments to ensure compliance with institutional policies and external regulatory frameworks for teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Oversee the continuous improvement of academic programs through regular reviews, feedback mechanisms, and benchmarking against best practices in higher education.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Facilitate strong relationships between departments, campuses, and external stakeholders to create a cohesive and responsive culture that prioritizes student success.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the School, across the institution, and with external partners to identify opportunities, maximize benefits, and achieve shared goals.
Leadership and Role Modeling:
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating the School’s values of equality, diversity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
- Share collective responsibility for promoting a sense of collegiality, ambition, and academic excellence within the School.
Professional Development:
- Support the professional growth of faculty members through targeted training, mentoring, and opportunities for scholarly development.

Student-Centric Focus:
- Ensure that all teaching and learning activities are designed to meet the diverse needs of students, creating an inclusive environment where every learner feels valued and supported.
- Monitor and evaluate student outcomes, implementing strategies to enhance retention, progression, and overall satisfaction.
Representation and Advocacy:
- Represent the School at national and international forums to enhance its profile and generate opportunities for collaboration and growth.
- Act as a key point of contact for partner institutions, ensuring strong and productive relationships.
Operational Oversight:
- Line manage the Teaching & Learning team, ensuring staff have the necessary support, resources, and professional development opportunities to excel in their roles.
- Ensure timely allocation of teaching staff to meet program requirements and deliver high-quality learning experiences.
Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent in Education, Business, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior leadership roles within higher education, with a focus on teaching and learning.
- Proven track record of leading educational innovation and implementing best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Higher Education teaching qualification (e.g., PGCert, SFHEA) or equivalent.
- Leadership or management qualification at Level 5 (e.g., CMI/ILM) or higher (MA/MSc in Leadership, Education, or related fields).
- Experience in entrepreneurship education or designing programs tailored to aspiring entrepreneurs.
- Strong understanding of digital learning tools and their application in higher education.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability in education.
