Job summary

Dutchess County BOCES seeks an Anticipated Art Teacher to develop students' artistic expression and creativity using the district curriculum. You will document progress, prepare lesson plans, and model essential skills while ensuring a safe learning environment and communicating progress to families and administrators.

The role is full-time, 10-month, tenure-track with a competitive salary and full health benefits, with salary between $64,868 and $85,536.

Qualifications

• State Certification as an Art Teacher or as required for position.
• Masters Degree preferred.
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans and implements district-approved curriculum.
• Documents teaching and student progress, activities and outcomes.

GENERAL STATEMENT
OF JOB:
To develop students' interest, abilities, talents and skills for artistic expression and creativity in the visual arts, as well as aesthetic understanding and appreciation by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; developing lesson plans; modeling the necessary skills to performing assigned tasks; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

• Full-time, 10-month, tenure track assignment.
