Job summary

Mahaana seeks a Senior QA Engineer in Karachi to own testing strategy and release assurance in an AI-enabled development workflow. You will design, implement, and maintain automated tests; validate AI-generated assets; and work closely with engineers, product, and design to ensure quality across functional and non-functional areas.

You will lead test planning, grow automation coverage, review requirements for clarity, and mentor teammates, while leveraging modern tooling and secure testing

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software QA with strong test automation.
• Experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, Postman, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
• Solid experience testing APIs and backend services, with SQL knowledge for data validation.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins.
• Strong analytical skills to identify edge cases and defects.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including defect reports and quality summaries.
• Experience in Agile teams and Jira usage.
• Interest in AI tools for testing and ability to review AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the test strategy across functional, regression, integration, API, performance, and security testing.
• Derive test scenarios from requirements and acceptance criteria with traceability to coverage.
• Build and maintain automated test suites and integrate into CI/CD for fast feedback.
• Use AI tools to generate test cases, data, and automation scripts, and review outputs.
• Conduct testing in staging with anonymized, realistic data, covering edge cases and non-functional behavior.
• Identify and report defects, collaborate with engineers, verify fixes.
• Review requirements for ambiguity and raise concerns before development.
• Review unit and integration tests to ensure meaningful behavior.
• Provide quality sign-off and release recommendations with stakeholder support.
• Track quality metrics and drive improvements in testing practices.
• Mentor teammates on testing practices and AI tool usage.
