About the role
The 1Life YAKAP Ambassador serves as the frontline representative of 1Life during community-based and field healthcare activities. The role is primarily responsible for educating patients about the PhilHealth YAKAP Program, explaining the benefits and services available through 1Life, encouraging eligible beneficiaries to voluntarily select 1Life as their YAKAP provider, and assisting them throughout registration and patient activation. The Ambassador works closely with 1Life registration and medical teams to provide a smooth, professional, compliant, and positive patient experience from initial engagement through registration, consultation, and continuing care.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively approach and engage prospective patients during 1Life field and community activities
- Explain the PhilHealth YAKAP Program in simple, accurate, and understandable language
- Clearly communicate the healthcare services and benefits available through 1Life
- Encourage eligible beneficiaries to voluntarily select 1Life as their YAKAP provider
- Answer common questions, address concerns or objections, and refer technical or medical questions to the appropriate team member
- Assist patients in completing the required YAKAP registration and provider-selection process
- Guide patients in using applicable PhilHealth and 1Life digital platforms
- Collect, encode, and verify required patient information and supporting documents
- Develop positive working relationships with patients, barangay representatives, community leaders, and partner organizations during field activities
- Maintain accurate daily records of patient engagements, referrals, registrations, and activation outcomes
About you
- At least a Senior High School graduate; college level or college graduate preferred
- Experience in field sales, healthcare, customer service, community organizing, microfinance, insurance/HMO, NGO work, barangay activities, promotions, or similar field work is an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in Filipino and preferably in the local dialect of the assigned area
- Comfortable approaching strangers, engaging different types of people, explaining benefits, addressing objections, and encouraging voluntary participation
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, mobile applications, online forms, and messaging platforms
- Willing to travel, work outdoors, and perform extensive community-based field work; able to work independently and as part of a medical field team
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods during field activities and community activations
- Detail-oriented and capable of capturing, checking, and submitting accurate patient information and documents
- Honest, trustworthy, disciplined, and committed to high ethical standards, particularly in consent, registration, and the handling of patient information
- Preferably a resident of, or familiar with, the assigned territory and its communities
